Martha Stewart Paints Her Louboutin Soles Black: “I Don’t Like Them Red”

Oct 17, 2012 @ 11:15 am

Martha Stewart is crafty—we all know this thanks to her billion-dollar empire—and she extends that philosophy to the red soles on the bottoms of her Christian Louboutin heels. “See the soles? I paint them black,” Stewart told InStyle.com of the metallic pumps that accessorized her Ralph Rucci cape and Vince leather trousers at last night’s American Made Awards, which honored small business entrepreneurs. “I don’t like them red, even though they’re his trademark. But he doesn’t mind. He said it’s okay if I do that—I asked him!” We’re happy to hear the French shoemaker gave her exclusive permission, especially since he’s so picky about his trademark-protected red soles. (In fact, Yves Saint Laurent just withdrew its claims against Louboutin over copyrighting the red bottoms.) Perhaps her personal touch is ahead of the curve!

Blake and Ryan’s Wedding: She Wore Marchesa and Martha Stewart Helped Plan

Sep 10, 2012 @ 4:31 pm

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were married in a super-secret ceremony last night, and the intimate details are finally coming in! The couple, who met on the set of The Green Lantern, were wearing designer duds for their big day, with him in a Burberry suit and her in hand-draped Marchesa with rose gold embroidery (we guessed this morning that she might wear Marchesa). Though we’re still anxiously waiting to see a picture of her dress, we do know that she accessorized the look with a wedding band by Lorraine Schwartz. And behind the whole lush affair, which was held at the “Notebook plantation” in South Carolina, was none other than the Queen of Party Planning herself, Martha Stewart. (Blake’s a huge fan of the domestic goddess—she even stopped by her show once for a Halloween special.) “From the heartfelt ceremony to the fun-filled carnival hour and elegant reception, it was a truly enchanting celebration,” Martha Stewart Weddings writes, with a promise of pictures and details about Stewart’s involvement in the magazine’s upcoming December issue. We can’t wait to see them!

Feb 9, 2012 @ 5:25 pm

Martha Stewart shared her Valentine’s Day advice on her show yesterday, including this food for thought: On February 14th, “the bill should never go to the guy.” Though, that doesn’t mean the boys are entirely off the hook. Stewart said that while the woman should pick up the dinner tab, it’s the man’s duty to come bearing gifts. Tell us: Do you agree? Apr 27, 2011 @ 5:35 pm

Jessica Simpson took home the Style Icon of the Year award at Us Weekly‘s annual Hot Hollywood party in L.A. last night, and she seemed pretty surprised by the win. “I’m not really that stylish, but I do know how to make a woman look beautiful, and when I want to look great, I know how to make it happen,” Simpson (in Etro) told reporters. She posed with Kathy Griffin (in Dolce & Gabbana) on the carpet, who told us, “I love Jessica Simpson! I’ve known her for a long time and she looks adorable.” Back in New York, Blake Lively showcased her newly-red locks, while Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos took in the Tribeca Film Festival. Who knew Martha Stewart was such a fashionista? In an upcoming special for the Hallmark Channel, the domestic diva and media mogul interviews Tory Burch, Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan and J. Crew’s Jenna Lyons. Naturally, with subjects this successful, the show is as much about empire building as it is about clothes. “This is true American dream here,” Diane von Furstenberg pointed out during her segment. “We have you as the big American dream and me as the little American dream.” Relaxed with her peers, Martha saucily jokes with them about dating, bodysuits (she’s pro) and her favorite stilettos. In short, Martha Stewart: The Women Who Dress America is the perfect blend of girl talk and business wisdom—get a sneak peek after the jump and tune in this Sunday at 9:00/8:00 Central.
