Compare This! Blake Lively’s Burgundy Marios Schwab Dress, From Runway to Reality

Mar 11, 2013 @ 10:33 am

Blake Lively supported husband Ryan Reynolds at the New York premiere of his new animated film The Croods yesterday wearing a burgundy dress by British designer Marios Schwab, a fresh piece that just debuted during the Fall 2013 London Fashion Week just a few weeks ago. We love how Mrs. Reynolds made the fall mini appear more spring by switching out the cage sandals for white pumps, which gave the white of the hemline an extra pop as well. This look fits right in line with what Schwab envisioned for women who wear his designs: “The Marios Schwab girl is mystical and she likes enjoying fashion, but she also likes something that is not overshadowing her character and personality,” he had told InStyle.com. That’s so Blake.

Jessica Chastain’s See-Through Dress: ‘I Could Do Aerobics in It’

Jun 12, 2012 @ 12:05 pm

At first glance, the see-through dress Jessica Chastain wore to this Sunday’s Tony Awards looked like she needed to be extra careful in case of accidental overexposure. Turns out, it was just the opposite. “It is so fitted to me, there is no room for any kind of malfunction,” the actress told InStyle.com of her Marios Schwab design, spinning to show off every embroidered Swarovski crystal, the attached light peridot-hued necklace, and built-in corset. “And that gives me a lot of confidence. I could do aerobics in this thing, and I’m fine. That to me is a happy place that I think you need to be when you go on a red carpet.” For accessories, she chose Harry Winston yellow diamond earrings and silver Giuseppe Zanotti 5.5-inch platform peep-toe pumps. “I’m not the tallest person, so let’s hike me up—I love tall shoes,” she said. “I could really do aerobics right now.” Next time, we’ll challenge her to some jumping jacks!

The Broadway community celebrated its biggest night of the year at last night’s Tony Awards! “Welcome to the 66th Annual Tony Awards, or as we like to call it, 50 Shades of Gay,” host Neil Patrick Harris joked during his opening monologue to the crowd of singers, dancers, actors, producers, directors, playwrights (and all of their plus-ones) huddled into New York City’s Beacon Theatre for the live telecast. First-time attendee and upcoming Broadway star of The Heiress Jessica Chastain, in a sheer Marios Schwab design, couldn’t wait to get on stage to present. “I love the Tonys,” she told InStyle.com. “This is a deal! I’ve watched it at home and I’m so excited to be here.” Other guests included Amanda Seyfried (in Givenchy), James Marsden, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Emma Stone (in Narciso Rodriguez), and Andrew Garfield (in Louis Vuitton). See more moments in the gallery.
