Watch Mariah Carey’s #Beautiful New Video

Did you catch the premiere of Mariah Carey‘s latest single on American Idol last night? Mimi’s “#Beautiful” track is the first off of her forthcoming 2013 album, and the video features the diva—clad in a trendy cutout bikini—hitching a motorcycle ride with R&B singer Miguel. The feeling of the video hearkens back to her ’90s Mariah videos, complete with must-have Mariah elements like perfectly-hitting sunlight (like “Honey”), belly-baring tops (like “Always Be My Baby”), and spaghetti strap tank dresses (like “Butterfly”). ”I feel like this is the first record I’ve ever released that’s simmering and bubbling up,” she said in a video for The Grammys YouTube channel. “It’s a feel-good record. The latest addition is a gourmand blend of salted caramel apple, toasted almonds, and honeysuckle, topped with a trio of Mimi’s favorite animals, butterflies. “The process of developing a fragrance is exhilarating and it takes me to another place within my creative self, which is why I enjoyed creating Mariah Carey Dreams,” the singer said of the fragrance, which is sold for $49 at kohls.com. “I humbly call myself a ‘perfumer in training’ because I love it so much—almost as much as I love making music!” And her passion shows with an impressive library of butterfly-themed perfumes under her belt. American Idol’s 12th Season Premieres Tonight

American Idol is back tonight for its twelfth season! Along with the new talent, the show welcomes Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, and Keith Urban to the judge’s panel. Idol originals Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest are back again, but Seacrest told The Today Show that the new season is not the show of old. “Is the show a lot different? Absolutely,” Seacrest told Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie. He’s most likely referring his two new diva co-stars. “These are two very very spirited, strong, individual performers who have had a lot of success that aren’t shy about their opinion.” Catch the first night of the two-part premiere at 8/7c on FOX.

Reigning holiday diva Mariah Carey joined late night host Jimmy Fallon and his house band, The Roots, for a stripped-down version of her iconic Christmas song, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Complete with roaring fire, twinkling lights, and cozy-looking Christmas sweaters aplenty, the gang will likely have you charmed right from the start, as they begin the song on their own before MC teeters in on festive sky-high red stilettos, a coordinating curve-hugging dress, and signature tousled waves. Accompanied by a choir of adorable kids, her voice is as strong as ever as she belts the classical tune, which originally debuted in 1994 and is still her number one song on iTunes. For its latest collaboration, OPI teamed up with the singer/American Idol judge to develop eight Grammy-worthy hues—including the new Liquid Sand polishes, which impart a matte, textured effect. “Mariah is very passionate about beauty and her nails in particular. To pay homage to her iconic status, we wanted to launch her collection with something new and exciting,” said OPI executive VP and artistic director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann. “The Liquid Sand nail lacquer offers a never-before-seen look with a pebbled finish that lightly shimmers with fine glitter particles.” We can’t wait to get our hands (and nails) on a bottle—or vice versa!
