Marc Jacobs’ Resort Collection: See the Photos!

Jun 10, 2011 @ 3:45 pm

Marc Jacobs‘ 2012 resort collection was inspired by 1960s wallpaper! The designer splashed his wide-leg trousers and party dresses with oversize paisley and daisy prints, bleached to look like they had been faded by the sun. Dome-shaped metal studs made an appearance on tanks and outerwear, and looks were paired with summery clear plastic shoes. Click “See the Photos” to browse Marc Jacobs’ Resort 2012 lineup.

Kirsten Dunst and Sofia Coppola: Front Row at Louis Vuitton Resort 2012!

Jun 9, 2011 @ 12:30 pm

Just three days after Sofia Coppola presented her longtime friend Marc Jacobs with his Lifetime Achievement Award at the CFDA Fashion Awards, she stopped by to show her support of the designer in another way—by sitting front row at his Resort 2012 collection for Louis Vuitton (he’s the creative director). Kirsten Dunst joined Coppola at the event—both wore LV, of course—where they enjoyed seeing loose button-up blouses, light raincoats, and jumpsuits in a palette of red, white, and blue come down the grass-covered runway. And it was hard not to miss the clever accessories: perforated clutches, lace-up platform wedges, chains with large LV charms, patterned hats, and printed motor scooter helmets. Instant Fashion Week Trend: Ponytails

Feb 16, 2011 @ 11:15 am

One of the biggest hairstyle trends we’ve seen on the fall runways this week is a timeless classic—the ponytail. BCBG Max Azria (top left) and Diane Von Furstenberg (bottom right) both showed a slick low ponytail, while Peter Som (bottom left) swept his teased ponytails to the side for a messier, sexy look. Marc Jacobs (top right) also had his models wear ponies, only his were mounted high and hair wrapped around the bands. What’s your favorite way to wear a ponytail? Tell us in the comments!

Fashion Week continued with heavy hitters all around. Leighton Meester stopped by the Marc Jacobs show last night with Fergie and Vanessa Hudgens. Runway Looks We Love: Marc Jacobs

Feb 15, 2011 @ 7:30 pm

“When it’s all about stripes, Marc serves dots,” Tweeted InStyle‘s Ariel Foxman of Marc Jacobs‘s fall 2011 collection. The circular influence was everywhere—fishscale paillette skirts, round berets by Stephen Jones millinery, and polka-dot tights. Jacobs also used rich colors—emerald, burgundy, and navy—as his palette for military jackets, skirt suits, and more dot-adorned separates. The designer’s accessories are also bound to be must-haves, with structured bags, heavy wedge boots, and chic polka dot gloves. Click through the gallery to see the entire Marc Jacobs fall 2011 collection.
