Macy’s New Guest Designer: Alberta Ferretti!

Macy’s newest guest designer is Alberta Ferretti! “The collection I created is fresh and bright, featuring light summer clothing that evokes the spirit of my beautiful country and is at the same time true to my style,” Ferretti told WWD. The 30-piece collection, which is priced from $49 to $119, will feature knitwear, feminine dresses, peasant blouses, and garden-party looks done up in abstract florals and delicate fabrics like chiffon and voile. These are the elements of Ferretti’s main line, which is loved by celebrities like Eva Longoria, Lea Michele and Halle Berry. Alberta Ferretti for Impulse hits Macy’s stores on April 17th.

Doo.Ri for Macy’s: Preview the Collection!

Soon you won’t have to pay in the thousands to scoop up one of Doo-Ri Chung’s pieces. The New York designer—whose fans include Jessica Chastain, Kristen Stewart, and Michelle Obama—created a lower-price collection of dresses, tops, pants, and trenches for Macy’s ranging from $39 to $159, set to hit stores next month. “Macy’s really wanted me to stay true to my own style,” Chung told InStyle.com. “To have accessibility that I would have never been able to reach is amazing.” And she didn’t skimp on the quality: “I really wanted to pick fabrics that stayed within the price point but felt luxurious,” she explained. “The knits still feel soft!” Preview some of the lineup in the gallery now, and shop the collection in stores and macys.com starting February 15th.

Rihanna Designed Clothes for Armani!

Rihanna teamed up with Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans to create capsule collection—fitting, as the Grammy winner is the also the face of both brands. The singer’s lineup features tees with “R” logos and illustrations of her face, sexy lace lingerie, and distressed denim pants and jackets. Cheryl Burke Models for Macy’s Now!

Cheryl Burke is a model for Macy’s now! The retailer announced that it brought on the Dancing With the Stars pro as the face of Ideology, a new activewear line that will launch in February. “The clothes are very me,” Burke told WWD of the collection, which includes jackets, yoga pants, tops, shorts, sweatshirts and undergarments priced from $8 to $58. “They’re just like what I normally wear for rehearsals or to work out in.” Burke is expected to wear pieces from the new Ideology line for the show’s 14th season next fall, so shoppers can see the clothes in action.

Black Friday 2011: Stores to Open at Midnight on Thanksgiving

Black Friday 2011 is on track to be an intense shopping day—this year bargain-hunters will be able to shop just hours after finishing their Thanksgiving dinners. Target, Kohl’s, and Macy’s plan to kick off Black Friday when the clock strikes midnight on November 25th, and doors will remain open for 23 hours. More stores are expected to announce their hours and deals for the Thanksgiving weekend in the next week or so. Tell us, do you plan on shopping through the night on Black Friday?
