Lela Rose’s Jean-Michel Cazabat Runway Shoes: Sketch to Reality

A new collection at Lela Rose did not just mean new clothes—the designer teamed up with Jean-Michel Cazabat on new shoes, too! Inspired by Rose’s “airy, magical, and mystical” fairytale theme this season, Cazabat created two silhouettes, a pump and a sandal. “The pump is about seduction, it’s open on the side where you can see the arch of the foot and has the nice detail of a crisscross strap in the back,” he told InStyle.com backstage after the show. “The sandal has an asymmetric shape and a nice ankle strap—of course, it’s sexy.” Cazabat also promised that the shoes would be available in his stores come fall—add them to your wish list now!

Yesterday the ladies dressed in their best to celebrate Barack Obama as he was sworn into office for a second term President of the United States. First Lady Michelle Obama looked radiant as she proudly stood beside her husband in a Thom Browne navy and light blue checked coat, which she accessorized with an embellished J.Crew belt, gloves, and Reed Krakoff boots. Vice President Joe Biden’s wife Jill Biden wore a little white dress with a gray coat, both by Lela Rose. Later that evening at the Inaugural Ball, Alicia Keys radiated in a patriotic red Michael Kors gown as she sang her hit girl-power anthem”Girl on Fire.” To see what all of the other famous guests and performers wore to yesterday’s festivities, click through the gallery!

We spotted a fluffy ginger cat on the picnic set-up at Rachel Antonoff‘s spring 2013 presentation (she told us she always has a cat on-set), and we snapped a cute shot of Lela Rose‘s daughter, Rosey, walking her pooch, Stitch, backstage before her mom’s show. Mandy Moore Loves to Make Lela Rose Her Own

Mandy Moore may just be Lela Rose‘s biggest fan! She told us she was honored to have been invited to accompany the designer to the 2012 CFDA Awards in June (center right in custom Lela Rose) and explained at Rose’s spring presentation today just why she loves to wear her looks so often. “Lela’s clothes are sophisticated and very feminine, and they show off that side of me—which is about half of me,” Moore, in a lemon Rose dress (left), told us from her front row seat. For her other half, she told us, “Today, I added this leather jacket and flats. I like to add something with an edge, that’s the fun of fashion!” Great tip: Mix it, match it, and make it your own!

Son Julez was Solange Knowles‘s plus-one at Tibi, while our reporter spotted Alexander Wang‘s niece working a mini Chanel bag at her uncle’s show. Miranda Lambert’s Kentucky Derby Inspiration: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge

Country star Miranda Lambert channeled her Kentucky Derby look this weekend from a world-famous hat expert: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge! “She definitely looked to Kate Middleton for her Derby hat style,” her stylist Tiffany Gifford told InStyle.com of her Giovannio New York topper. “Miranda specifically asked for a fascinator this year because the big hat she wore last year was so heavy it hurt her neck! She loved the little cage on the front because it was just the right amount of retro.” The black sequin-covered topper complemented her printed Lela Rose strapless dress, while red Charlotte Olympia pumps and Colette jewels rounded out her accessories.
