Hollywood Haircut Trend: Long, Airy Bangs!

After experimenting with a clip-on version almost a year ago, Taylor Swift became the latest celebrity to adopt one of the hottest haircuts right now—long, airy bangs! This morning she Tweeted the photo above, and joined the ranks of recent bang-adoptors Rachel Weisz, Julianne Moore and Leighton Meester. Unlike thicker, blunter versions which are all one length, this piecey fringe works best when it’s shortest in the middle of the forehead and longer towards the outer edges. Plus, since they’re lightweight, they’re easy to grow out. Are you thinking about trying bangs? Find the right bangs for your face shape in the gallery!

Confirmed: Blair Waldorf’s Wedding Dress Designer Is Vera Wang!

Nov 16, 2011 @ 9:30 am

Who designed the wedding dress for Blair Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester)? The CW just confirmed to InStyle.com that the designer is none other than Vera Wang! The gown is a piece from the designer’s fall 2010 collection, which Wang describes as a soft A-line gown with  multi-layered Chantilly lace applique and a horsehair sash at the natural waist, and it was originally shown with an elbow-length overlay. And the Meester-Wang match-up is fitting, as the Gossip Girl star is the face of Vera Wang’s Lovestruck fragrance. As for why the show’s stylist Eric Daman picked the dress, he told InStyle.com: “It’s phenomenalIt has that kind of bravado and gorgeousness and is also subtle and beautiful.” Tell us: What do you think?

Gossip Girl: Blair Waldorf’s Wedding Dress by Monique Lhuillier?

Gossip Girl filmed the Blair Waldorf–Prince Louis of Monaco wedding in New York last night! Photographers caught Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester) on set, tearfully running out of the ceremony in her elaborate gown and diamond tiara. OK, so she may not marry the Prince—we won’t know for sure until the episode airs in January—but she did get to wear the dress! “It’s phenomenal,” the show’s stylist Eric Daman told InStyle.com of the look at the launch of his DKNY hosiery collection last month. “It has that kind of bravado and gorgeousness and is also subtle and beautiful.” And he gave us a few hints: First, “She is with child, so I doubt that it’s going to be white,” he said. Second, “It’s a bridal designer who also designs ready-to-wear.” After pouring over images of wedding gowns with his clues in mind, we’re thinking Monique Lhuillier is behind the strapless lace and tulle gown with a sweetheart neckline and side bow. Waldorf’s look is similar to the “Emma” style the designer created for her fall 2012 collection, with a few tweaks, like the ivory hue and a fuller skirt. Tell us: What do you think of Blair’s wedding dress?

UPDATE: The dress is by Vera Wang—click here for more info!

Kate Middleton, Leighton Meester, and Lea Michele share the taste in luxury gowns, as they wore sparkly nude-pink dresses by Jenny Packham this year. The Duchess of Cambridge chose her Packham design for a gala in June, Meester (as Blair Waldorf) wore one for an episode of Gossip Girl, and the Glee star attended an event this week in a shimmering nude V-neck gown. And the designer is thrilled: “When we dress these iconic women, it’s always exciting for the brand,” she told InStyle.com at her New York Fashion Week show in September. So, which of these styles is your favorite? Vote in the poll below and let us know!  More
