Celebrities were busy documenting their fun fall outings this weekend in the world of Instagram, from Halloween prep to pumpkin carvings. If seasonal festivities of your own kept you from scrolling through your feed, don’t worry — we rounded-up all the best snaps from the weekend, including Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka’s trip to Wonderland with twins Gideon and Harper, Lauren Conrad‘s visit to the pumpkin patch with fiancé William Tell, and Emmy Rossum‘s day of carving. Lauren Conrad is over the hills in love! The reality star turned designer and author got engaged over the weekend to boyfriend of nearly two years, William Tell. Conrad debuted her big sparkler on Instagram Monday morning, and we think it’s simply gorgeous! Her ring features a round-cut diamond on a simple platinum band, and she showed it off next to a perfectly placed Sydney Evan “Love” ring (which you can pick up for yourself at sydneyevan.com; plus, shop more scripted “love” rings here). “I am beyond thrilled!” Conrad wrote of her engagement on her personal blog. “Get ready for lots more wedding content here on laurenconrad.com as we begin the planning process.” We can’t wait for all the behind-the-scenes looks at Conrad’s big day that are sure to come, and send our congratulations to the lovely couple! Now that you’ve seen the ring up close, tell us: What do you think?

Lauren Conrad is on tour promoting her latest book Infamous, the third and final installment of best-selling The Fame Game series. For her stop at the Young Hollywood studios in Los Angeles, the style star picked out this pretty patterned skirt by Sachin + Babi. If you (like us) kept hitting snooze this morning, Lauren Conrad gave us all a reason to jump out of bed: the launch of her new bedding collection for Kohl’s. It’s the next step for her LC Lauren Conrad line with the retailer, and is available beginning June 11. “The collection is classic and feminine,” Conrad wrote on her site to announce her latest endeavor. “I looked to details like ruffles, bows, and floral prints to make this collection a reflection of my ladylike aesthetic.” We love this ruffled baby blue bedspread pictured above (also available in a soft pink) and we’re amazed at how her floral designs somehow manage to scream “chic” rather than “grandma.” Click the photo to see more of the collection, and head over to LC’s site for details on how you can enter to win a $250 Kohl’s gift card to use toward her collection.

Steady rain didn’t stop Orb, the favorite horse, from winning the 139th Kentucky Derby on Saturday, nor did it keep the stars from showing up on the red carpet in their finest southern belle ensembles. Lauren Conrad, Miranda Lambert, and Coco Rocha are just a few of the celebs we are tipping our hats to this year for their inspired headpieces; click the photo to see their looks, plus our favorite star-studded Kentucky Derby hats from years’ past.

Chalk it up to the sunny California weather, but when it comes to sporting a flawless tan, Lauren Conrad sets the bar high. To impart the most natural-looking glow, skin expert Kate Somerville, who has worked with the star, advises going for a product just as organic—next to tanning in the sun, that is. Somerville recommends looking for a sunless tanner free of parabens. Our favorite? The fresh-scented St. Tropez Gradual Tan Everyday Face ($25; sttropeztan.com). Thanks to the absence of harsh chemicals, it’s just as easy on the most sensitive skin types as it is on the planet. Click the image to get more celebrity skincare tips!
When it comes to technicolor highlights, Lauren Conrad wears them like a pro—the star has donned blue and pink in hues the past, but her recent shift in shade wasn’t planned at all. At a celebration for Holi, the Hindu festival of colors, Conrad’s sunny strands picked up a little more of the vivid ceremonial pigment than expected, resulting in the pink tone she debuted on Instagram. While we think Conrad wears the tint well, we certainly sympathize with an accidental color-change. That’s why we enlisted the help of hairstylist Joel Warren of Warren-Tricomi salons for a solution! His answer, in two parts:
IF YOU GO TO A SALON
“When hair gets stained, the color goes into the cuticle and becomes hard to remove. We recommend a peroxide shampoo bath,” Warren told InStyle.com exclusively. “At the salon, we put low-volume peroxide in a gentle shampoo and soak the hair until the stain comes out.”
IF YOU D-I-Y IT
No time to book an appointment? Try your hand at it from home. “You can do the same process at home—just buy a bottle of 20 volume peroxide, and add it to shampoo,” Warren advised. “Keep checking every five minutes, wash out, then reapply if necessary.” Crisis averted!
