Would You Wear a Crystal Snake Dress Like Jennifer Lopez and Emma Stone?

May 1, 2012 @ 11:40 am

This season, Lanvin released a copper and black color-block dress with one out-of-the-ordinary addition—a Swarovski crystal snake wrapped around the neck and winded down the left side of the body. It’s not often we see reptile replicas incorporated into designs in forms other than prints, and celebrities immediately gravitated to the distinctive look. Jennifer Lopez wore the serpent style in Montreal yesterday, and Emma Stone chose it for a Golden Globes party in January. The piece is available beyond the runway and the stars, too—luisaviaroma.com sells it for $7,835. So, what’s the appeal? It’s different, that’s for sure. And how often do we see something truly different? Tell us: Would you wear this dress? Let us know in the comments!

Demi Moore on Her Lanvin Jewelry: “They Have Soul”

Apr 18, 2012 @ 5:45 pm

Demi Moore returned to the spotlight in Beverly Hills last night, where she joined InStyle magazine to celebrate her pal Amanda de Cadenet’s new show, The Conversation, airing April 26th on Lifetime. For her big night out, the actress and executive producer of the series accessorized her all-Lanvin outfit with oversize jewels by the luxury label, including a pearl cross chain that dangled down to her waist, and a geometric wing pendant covered in crystals. “I normally don’t wear things this big,” Moore said. “But they have such soul to them.” Each piece sells for $1,485 (the cross at barneys.com; the wings at bergdorfgoodman.com).

The Bachelor Finale: Ben Flajnik’s Suit Details

Mar 8, 2012 @ 11:01 am

The Bachelor star Ben Flajnik recycles one of his favorite suits from a previous episode for his final rose ceremony airing Monday. The 29-year-old winemaker originally wore the slate blue Hugo Boss design at one of the initial San Francisco rose ceremonies—this time he paired it with a black velvet Lanvin tie. “When he wore it the first time, all the girls made such a big deal out of it,” the show’s stylist Cary Fetman told InStyle.com. “After that, he told me he wanted to wear it for the finale because someone who would be in the final two said how sexy he looked.” Now we wonder who complimented him: Lindzi or Courtney? Find out when the finale airs March 12th at 8/7c.

Designer Christmas Trees Now on Display!

Nov 30, 2011 @ 10:00 am

Betsey Johnson and Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz are showing their holiday spirit by giving Christmas trees designer makeovers! Johnson teamed with The Plaza in New York City to design the hotel’s first official tree, a candy pink-covered timber inspired by the famed Eloise from Kay Thompson’s 1955 children’s book. On the other side of the pond, Alber Elbaz of Lanvin designed a tree for London hotel Claridge’s, which features marionettes dressed in Lanvin-designed hotel uniforms. Jennifer Garner: ‘Rachel Zoe Won’t Let Me Wear Maternity Clothes!’

Nov 7, 2011 @ 11:55 am

Jennifer Garner is avoiding maternity clothes for her red carpet appearances, though not exactly by choice. “[My stylist] Rachel Zoe is so determined to not put me in maternity clothes,” the actress told InStyle.com the AFI Fest’s screening of Butter in Los Angeles this weekend. “I think because she was so little when she was pregnant, she didn’t wear them.” So, while Garner wore an off-the-runway Lanvin dress to the event, she also sees maternity wear in her future. “I have four months to go. Sooner or later, she is going to have to put me in a maternity dress. Eventually that is going to happen, but so far she has gotten her way.”
