Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge has been busy lately—a baby on the way isn’t stopping her!—so, we’re doing some style prep for Princess’s growing bump by picking out a look we’d like to see her wear for her next outing. With Kate experimenting with prints this week in an Erdem design, we’ve tasked ourselves with finding pieces with fun patterns to complement her changing figure. Scroll down to see our three picks.

A TWO-TONE PRINTED WRAP DRESS
Diane von Furstenberg‘s abstract printed dress ($365 at dvf.com) in her classic wrap style is sure to flatter her figure. Plus, the Duchess has a proven herself fan of DVF by wearing her dresses and clutches for past occasions.

A FRESH FLORAL SHIFT
The floral pattern of Erdem‘s funky shift ($675 at matchesfashion.com) makes for a stylish option in one of her favorite color palettes.

A GRAPHIC FROCK
The rouched detailing of L.K. Bennett‘s design ($395 at lkbennett.com) gives her expanding bump room to grow, and the graphic print adds a fun touch to a traditional style.

It’s been a big year so far for Jack Reacher actress Rosamund Pike! Following in the footsteps of Emily Mortimer, Tom Cruise’s co-star is the newest face for British brand (and Kate Middleton favorite) L.K. Bennett. The star looks casual and cool in the first image from the brand’s Spring/Summer 2013 campaign, wearing a crisp white button-up and a black leather skirt. Meanwhile, Stephanie Seymour has a brand new modeling gig! Jason Wu just put her in the ad campaigns for his Spring 2013 collection, and Seymour looks as sultry as ever in lots of black, mesh, and lace. The premiere image was shot by fashion veterans Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

Catherine’s Red L.K. Bennett Coat: Back for Another Year

Nov 26, 2012 @ 1:37 pm

We love the coat collection Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge has acquired for England’s chilly weatherjust take a look at several here—and there’s one we’ve been hoping she’d slip on again ever since she first debuted it last year: This L.K. Bennett tailored red style. She first wore the wool design with a patent leather red belt to check out the UNICEF Global Supply Center in Copenhagen last November, and the $550 coat immediately became a hot item to buy online. Now no longer available, she whipped it out again—finally… over a year later—to attend the Autumn International rugby match between Wales and New Zealand in Cardiff, Wales on Saturday, this time, wearing it the way it came, sans additional accessories with its built-in silver buckle. One coat, two ways! Isn’t it obvious why we don’t get tired of watching her style?

The Good Wife Fashion Details: Season 4, Episode 8

Nov 19, 2012 @ 1:22 pm

“There’s more clothing this year than in any of the previous seasons!” The Good Wife costume designer Daniel Lawson told InStyle.com of the season four wardrobe, as he is responsible for dressing Julianna Margulies, Christine Baranski, and the rest of the ever-growing cast. It’s true, which means we get even more highly-stylish workwear to watch, as Lawson puts the principals in Armani (as seen on Baranski), royal-loved L.K. Bennett (as seen on Margulies), and more. Get all the fashion details from last night’s brand-new episode (and the season!) in the gallery!

The Good Wife’s Favorite Jacket: TV (Alicia Florrick) and Reality (Kate Middleton)

Oct 10, 2012 @ 10:55 am

Be still, our beating hearts! Look who wore the same jacket: two good wives, fictional and real. Costume designer Daniel Lawson dressed Julianna Marguliess character Alicia Florrick in this L.K. Bennett peplum jacket for The Good Wife‘s season-four second episode, the same look Prince William’s Good Wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge wore back in March. What’s the appeal? “Like a lot of L.K. Bennett’s pieces, the jacket looks expensive and elegant while creating a shapely figure,” Lawson told InStyle.com. “I think it’s right for both women, because it says feminine and elegant while also being  professional and unique.” This was no copycat look, though. “I have been using L.K. Bennett for the past couple of years,” he said. “I did see a photo of Kate Middleton wearing it, but I believe we had already ordered it by then.”

The Good Wife Fashion Details: Season 4, Episode 2

The Good Wife costume designer Daniel Lawson gave InStyle.com the exclusive inside scoop about what Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) and Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) wore on last night’s new episode. “This week, it was really about de-extreming and rebuilding the looks,” Lawson said. “You want these women to be as fashion-forward as they can be, but we don’t want to be extreme.” To achieve this balancing act, he customized each piece that landed on screen, taking out some of the ruffles of the navy L.K. Bennett jacket, for instance, and hemming the tails on the skirt and jacket of this burgundy Oscar de la Renta suit. Click through the gallery for more details straight from the set!

One would think that with all of the natural attention L.K. Bennett already gets with its biggest celebrity fan, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, the British label wouldn’t need to enlist anyone else! Guess again—the company tapped the UK’s own Emily Mortimer, star of HBO’s The Newsroom, to be the face of its fall collection, modeling the brand’s famous bags and shoes, as well as pieces from the new ready-to-wear luxury capsule collection Black Ribbon. Her chic and classy look is totally Kate! No wonder the royal loves L.K.
