This is what Kristen Stewart has taught us about her style: If she’s wearing something formal on a red carpet, you can be sure something cozy is close by. The actress pulled another one of her fashion switcheroos at last night’s New York premiere of On the Road, when she changed out of her sheer embroidered look by Erdem and neon Louboutin pumps in favor of jeans, a leather jacket, and Doc Martens (not her typical Converses) for the after-party. See more of her style switches in the gallery—it’s really become her thing!
Kristen Stewart (in Jason Wu) was back On The Road to screen her upcoming film based on the Jack Kerouac novel! This time, she was at Sundance Cinema in Los Angeles for a private screening, alongside her co-star Garrett Hedlund. For the film, which releases nationwide December 21, Stewart plays Marylou, a vivacious character who—with boyfriend Dean (played by Hedlund)—crosses the country on an introspective trip with writer Sal Paradise.

Twilight brought in some big bucks! Breaking Dawn – Part 2 grossed $141.3 million in its opening weekend—making in the eight biggest opening weekend opening of all time—as well as $199.6 million internationally. The mega-appeal is due in part to the cast, including Kristen Stewart, who embarked on an around-the-world tour to promote the finale movie in the series and worked with stylist Tara Swennen to pack some of the boldest, brightest, and best outfits we’ve ever seen her wear. In Berlin, she shined in a gold Elie Saab dress; in Madrid, she glowed in sunny yellow Christian Dior; in London, she wore a black lace and sequin jumpsuit by Zuhair Murad; and in Hollywood, she dazzled in an illusion Zuhair Murad gown. Our Look of the Day top picks this week were all about nudes, black and white (or both!), and green! Taylor Swift arrived for MTV’s Europe Music Awards in an embroidered silk chiffon gown from J. Mendel, Kristen Stewart hit the Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Los Angeles premiere wearing a sheer corseted Zuhair Murad dress, Emma Stone lit up the CFDA Fashion Fund Awards with her jewel-tone Burberry look, Keira Knightley premiered Anna Karenina in a gorgeous embroidered Erdem design, and Jennifer Aniston honored Ben Stiller while wearing a strapless Valentino number. Which one is your favorite? Tell us by voting in the poll below!
Rather than breaking out her tried-and-true red lipstick again, Kristen Stewart wore a vivid magenta to the Los Angeles premiere of Breaking Dawn – Part 2. The punchy shade makes for a fun twist on fall’s subdued tones, and we were so inspired by the look, that we just had to ask her makeup artist, Jillian Dempsey, for the exact shade! “It was really about continuing the luminosity of her dress [a nude Zuhair Murad number] with shimmering makeup,” said Dempsey, who opted for Chanel’s Rouge Allure Velvet Lip Color in La Sensuelle ($33; chanel.com). “I used incandescent shadow so the light would bounce off her eyes and contrast bitten, almost stained lips with Kristen’s porcelain skin.” The lipstick had a matte finish, so to prevent Stewart’s pucker from feeling dry, Dempsey swiped on a layer of Chanel’s Rouge Coco Baume ($33; chanel.com) before applying the color. Try the high-impact lip look for a night out!

Look who played peekaboo! This week, red carpets were full of very sheer looks, with Kristen Stewart, Christa B. Allen, Teresa Palmer, and Ashley Greene all wearing see-through styles in a 48-hour time period. Stewart chose Zuhair Murad for Twilight’s London premiere, Allen worked Catherine Malandrino at GQ’s Man of the Year Awards, Palmer went bare in Emilio Pucci for Twilight’s screening in Hollywood, and Greene tried lace Wes Gordon for the CFDA Fashion Fund Award ceremony. While these looks dare to bare, the look is actually something many women can pull off. So you don’t expose too much, look for pieces with built-in coverage, like double-layer pockets and panels or strategically placed prints. Most importantly, this isn’t a grab-and-go shopping venture—the fabric has little hanger appeal, so you must try it on!

Zuhair Murad is the designer to turn to for look-at-me gowns—he’s close with Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, and Taylor Swift, for example—which is why were pleased to see Kristen Stewart choose one of his pieces for her last Hollywood Twilight premiere this week, a nude strapless gown with lace and chiffon paneling and a corseted bodice. “I’m a big fan of Kristen, and was very happy to see her in this particular gown for her Twilight premiere,” the designer told InStyle.com exclusively. “The mysterious and daring aura she exudes in the film matches the design inspiration behind this gown perfectly.” It’s amazing how her style has grown since the Saga’s beginning in 2008!
