Eat Your Way to Flawless Skin Like Katherine Heigl’s

Celebrity dermatologist Jessica Wu swears by certain skin-friendly foods, and if her gorgeous client list—including Katherine Heigl and Maria Bello—is any indication, she’s really on to something. For the porcelain-skinned Heigl, a big Italian food fan, Wu suggested opting for whole-wheat pasta with tomato-based sauce containing skin-boosting green and yellow veggies instead of regular pasta with cream sauce. “Studies have shown that people who eat more green and yellow veggies have fewer wrinkles on their faces, especially crows’ feet,” Wu says. Our October Cover Girl Is… Katherine Heigl!

“There’s this thing where, as a new mother, you’re just constantly going, ‘Am I doing this right?’” admitted our October cover girl Katherine Heigl, who adopted her 20-month-old daughter, Nancy Leigh Mi-Eun (Naleigh), with husband Josh Kelley last September. But despite her early self-doubt, the actress clearly is doing it right, balancing family and a successful career—Heigl’s new film Life As We Know It, which she also executive produced, hits theaters October 8th. Heigl also opened up to us about adoption: “I had spoken to [Josh] about it before we got engaged and because I wanted to make sure we were on the same page—not everybody feels the way I do about adoption,” she said. “I don’t know why I felt like it was so important for me to do it before we had biological children, but I felt like I had been waiting and dreaming about Naleigh for a long time.” For more on our exclusive interview with Heigl (plus what items she never leaves home without) check out the October Issue of InStyle, on newsstands Friday.

Which Stylish Summer Movie Tops Your Must-See List?

Summer is just around the corner, and we plan on getting some serious style inspiration from the season’s upcoming films. Sex and The City 2 (out May 27th) is number one on our list of must-watch wardrobes—Sarah Jessica Parker‘s playful, pleated Halston Heritage dress is just one of many colorful ensembles we’ve already spotted on the set. And we can’t wait for Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba’s retro dresses and red lips in the 1950s-set crime noir The Killer Inside Me (June 18th). Katherine Heigl will sport sleek sheaths as an assassin’s wife in Killers (June 4th), while Cameron Diaz will dodge secret agents in chic menswear suits (that inspired a collection for Brooks Brothers) in Knight & Day (June 25th). Katherine Heigl: Coming Soon To A Theater Near You

After six seasons as Dr. Izzie Stevens on Grey’s Anatomy, Katherine Heigl has finally confirmed that she’s checked out of Seattle Grace Hospital for good. While the outspoken actress says she’s done with the small screen for now, she will be coming soon (and often!) to a theater near you. And she’ll be joined by some pretty dreamy leading men. In June, the actress will star opposite Ashton Kutcher as a newlywed who uncovers her husband’s shady past in Killers, later this year she and Josh Duhamel play a pair of hapless singles who find themselves raising a baby in Life As We Know It, and it’s been reported she has five more films in the works. Dubbed the “sexiest, smartest, sassiest actress out there” by her Ugly Truth co-star Gerard Butler, Heigl proved that she’s got guts earlier this month when the strap of her Donna Karan dress broke as she took the stage to receive an award in Las Vegas. Instead of making a quick exit, she enlisted the help of Access Hollywood host Billy Bush to keep her frayed frock in place and launched into her acceptance speech. “I wasn’t going to stop the show and make everyone wait while somebody tries to find a way to pin it,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “I decided to just go for it.”
