It’s been over a year, and people are still talking about That Wedding! In a new special airing in the United Kingdom next week, Prince William admits that he barely slept the night before he walked down the super-long aisle at Westminster Abbey to wed his bride Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. ”[The crowds] were singing and cheering all night long, so the excitement of that, the nervousness of me and everyone singing—I slept for about half an hour,” he said, Us Weekly reports. Knowing millions of people would be watching around the world, we’re not sure we would’ve caught any ZZZs, either! Tell us: Did you sleep before your wedding day or did adrenaline take over?

Plus, see the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s cutest couple moments!

Pippa Middleton in the Issa Dress That Won’t Quit

May 21, 2012 @ 11:45 am

The royal blue Issa dress Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge made famous when she announced her engagement to Prince William in November 2010 is back again! This time, it’s on her little sister. Pippa Middleton chose the same flattering wrap design to attend her friend’s wedding in Scotland this weekend, only in a raspberry red color, and added a matching black and rose floral fascinator. Ironically, when Issa reissued the design in the different hue, the label made a nod to the elder Middleton’s big moment, naming it “Royal Engagement Dress” (available for $555 at net-a-porter.com). Of course, Pippa could have chosen any other look, but why mess with a good thing, right?

Princess Power Lunch! Charlene and Catherine Meet in Pastels

There is possibly no better lunch meeting that happened anywhere in the world today than the gathering that occurred in honor of Queen Elizabeth’s jubilee at Windsor Castle in England. Worlds collided this afternoon—ours in particular—when Princess Charlene of Monoco and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge met and exchanged pleasantries (perhaps, as two of the most talked-about brides of 2011, they discussed the difference between wearing McQueen and Armani on your wedding day). For the event, the two dressed in head-to-toe pretty pastels the colors of Ladurée macarons, with Catherine in a rose pink Emilia Wickstead pleated dress—the same designer she wore for her green St. Patrick’s Day coatdress look—and Charlene in a powder blue skirt suit and matching heels. Their husbands, Prince William and Prince Albert II of Monaco, lingered in the background during this significant moment, while other guests included Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie. As royal style watchers, it doesn’t get much better than this! Whose look do you prefer? Let us know in the comments.

Every Angle of Duchess Catherine’s Teal Jenny Packham Gown

Of course we love when Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge wears her girl-next-door Rebecca Taylor skirt suits and Matthew Williamson day dresses, but when she wears a gown—especially like the one she wore to the Olympic-themed concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London tonight—it’s exciting in a much more of Living-the-Princess-Life kind of way. This look, courtesy of British designer Jenny Packham, featured intricate detailing, like a button-up lace-covered back and jeweled waistline in a rich peacock green, teal hue. “I think that Kate has a particular style, and I think that my dresses are quite in keeping with her style,” Packham told InStyle.com at her last fashion show. “I think women who like my dresses like to look feminine and classic but with modern elements.” Catherine’s extras provided great finishing touches, from a matching clutch to her Jimmy Choo shoes to her braided updo. Tell us: What do you think of the look—love it or leave it? Let us know in the comments!
