Amsale Dishes on Kate Hudson’s Something Borrowed Wedding Gown

May 5, 2011 @ 1:45 pm

In Emily Griffin’s Something Borrowed only one designer would satisfy demanding bride-to-be Darcy: Amsale. True to the book, our May cover girl Kate Hudson and crew headed to the famed New York boutique to film the big screen adaptation—and that meant a little construction. “We’re on the mezzanine level, so they created an entire Park Avenue storefront,” explained Amsale Aberra. Once the stunning façade was completed, the rest was left to the Ethiopian designer and the film’s star. “I selected a few dresses and she walked around and chose her favorite,” said Aberra. “It was literally like a bride shopping for her wedding.” Hudson’s pick: a dramatic beaded drop-waist gown aptly named “Celebrity.” The tulle and organza Kenneth Pool design is available for $12,900 at the Manhattan Amsale Flagship Salon, and information on other stores carrying the style can be found at Amsale.com. “I can’t wait to see it in the movie, said Aberra. Neither can we!

Kate Hudson Likes the Way Women Work!

Apr 20, 2011 @ 2:15 pm

Kate Hudson gushed about her newfound love and second pregnancy for the new May issue of InStyle magazine, but there’s something else she adores that is purely career-related—the way women work. “I just like the way girls do things,” the actress told InStyle at a weekend press conference for her new movie Something Borrowed. “We really do know how to get things done.” She was, of course, referring to her producer on the film, the one and only Hilary Swank. “Obviously there are so many male producers that I’ve worked with that are just incredible,” she continued. “But watching women multitask I find so intriguing because they’re so damn good at it. It was very feminine. They’re very feminine. It’s not like girls trying to be boys. It was a nice thing to see women as women.” Did you feel that? It’s like she just gave all the multitasking women in the world one big pat on the back! Something Borrowed hits theaters May 6th.
