“It’s one of my more privileged nights,” Sarah Jessica Parker told InStyle.com as she entered the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Ball, which took place inside a 31-foot-high Tiffany Blue Box covering The Rink at Rockefeller Center to celebrate the jewelry company’s new custom collection inspired by the Jazz Age. And she wasn’t the only one feeling privileged—while she had $497,500 worth of Tiffany jewels accessorizing her vintage Vicky Tiel design, other guests also dressed in Tiffany’s finest, including Kate Hudson (in Reem Acra), Michelle Williams, Jessica Biel, Carey Mulligan (in Victoria Beckham), and Gwyneth Paltrow (in Ralph Lauren). The gorgeous gals were just a few of the 400 guests who, once inside the blue box, were treated to a ’20s-style supper club—which brought the newly-unveiled Great Gatsby-inspired windows to life—complete with big-band jazz performances and a serenade by Smash star Megan Hilty, who fittingly performed the night’s anthem, “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.” And anywhere you turned—Tiffany blue could be found. “I love the color, it’s one of my favorites,” Paltrow said of the celebrated hue of the evening. “It’s so optimistic and it’s perfect. I think it’s so beautiful.” Click the photo for more.

Manicure We Love: Kate Hudson’s Chevron Gray-and-Pink Nail Art

Apr 19, 2013 @ 11:40 am

Kate Hudson accessorized her Tiffany blue Reem Acra gown with $256,195 worth of Tiffany & Co. jewels for last night’s Tiffany & Co.-hosted Blue Book Ball at Rockefeller Center, and while her add-ons all looked amazing, we couldn’t help but notice the funky nail art that finished her look. “They’re so fun,” Hudson told InStyle.com of the chevron-style design, done up in metallic gray and mauve pink. She went on to say she got them at “the salon I love,” New York nail salon TenOverTen. “They do this—you just ask them to do the chevron!” And you don’t need to be in New York to get the look, ask for the design at your own nail salon or do it yourself by adding slim lines with a fine-tipped nail art brush.

Apr 4, 2013 @ 1:30 pm

Happy #ThrowbackThursday! To celebrate our favorite hashtag of the week, we’re taking a look back at InStyle‘s August 1996 cover starring mother-daughter duo Kate Hudson (at 17!) and Goldie Hawn. ”Family has always been the most important thing in my life,” Hawn told us. “The only real goal that I ever had was to be a good mother.” A mantra that her daughter, now a mother of two, has certainly taken to heart!

Exclusive! Behind the Scenes at Kate Hudson’s Almay Shoot

Jan 22, 2013 @ 2:37 pm

Kate Hudson is baring it all in her latest Almay campaign! We got a sneak peek at Hudson’s shoot for the brand’s Bold Nudes Intense i-Color Palette, where she contrasted her glamorous role as Cassandra on Glee with a more natural look. “I think we [wanted] Cassandra to be heavy in terms of her makeup,” Hudson told us at the palette’s launch. “We did a little more than normal because she’s a little bit harder, and we wanted to make sure that you can really see the makeup.” And the trio of shadows can accommodate her character’s flair for dramatic makeup, too. The tawny neutrals work for smoky and minimalist looks alike, and come in shades to flatter every eye color. Shop the palette for $8 at target.com, and check out the gallery to take an exclusive look on set!
