After the runways close for the night, the parties heat up during New York Fashion Week! Shailene Woodley made her way to the Hotel on Rivington to join Christian Siriano‘s after-party, Jaime King showed her support for Prabal Gurung at the private dinner at The James Hotel, and Bulgari spokeswoman Julianne Moore feted the Chinese Year of the Snake at the brand’s glittery private new year’s bast, complete with gold-encrusted fortune cookies. See more fashion celebrations in the gallery!

InStyle’s 5 Best Dressed of the 2013 SAG Awards

The 2013 SAG Awards red carpet proved to be another fashion show for Hollywood’s leading ladies!  So, which dresses topped our list of favorites? Five looks that represented five of the biggest trends of the season. Check them all out here!

1. ANNE HATHAWAY: SHEER
Anne Hathaway represented the sheer trend seen on the spring runways wearing a Giambattista Valli Haute Couture embroidered corset and tulle dress from the spring Haute Couture collection. She accessorized with Kwiat jewels.

2. JESSICA CHASTAIN: RED
Redheads can wear red! The Best Actress nominee wore a fiery Alexander McQueen gown, a look that got only more va-va-voom with the $1.25 million Harry Winston necklace accessorizing it.

3. JULIANNE MOORE: BLACK & WHITE
Black and white were the biggest “colors” of the night, from solid black (like Michelle Dockery‘s vintage Chado Ralph Rucci), solid white (like Naomi Watts‘s Marchesa), to a black-white mix (like Julianne Moore’s stunning Chanel look), all inspired by the biggest trend that emerged from the spring runways.

4. MARION COTILLARD: TUXEDO/BOW DETAIL
We loved the look of Marion Cotillard’s Dior Haute Couture dress. The face of the label represented its ladylike motif in an ivory white silk faille bustier and a dark green skirt in leather satin. But the most standout detail was the bow around the waist, wrapping her just right.

5. KERRY WASHINGTON: EMBELLISHMENT
Now that’s a silver lining! Washington’s Rodarte gown featured just the right amount of bling embellishment, with silver jewels lining the bodice.

Olivia Wilde and Julianne Moore: Calvin Klein Double Take

Nov 6, 2012 @ 5:20 pm

Whoa, fashion double-take! Julianne Moore and Olivia Wilde looked like they grabbed the same dress at last night’s ACE Awards, as both chose a winter white look with a thin black belt by Calvin Klein. There were subtle differences, of course: Moore’s strapless style included off-the-shoulder sleeves, while Wilde’s high-necked sleeveless version featured a hint of peplum. Either way, CK creative director Francisco Costa—who was there to receive the Accessories Council’s Designer of the Year award with colleagues Italo Zucchelli and Ulrich Grimm—was thrilled as he watched the ladies walk down the red carpet. “They look amazing, they really do,” Costa told InStyle.com of seeing the stars in his designs. “I love seeing women in the clothes because they really come alive. It’s amazing.” Indeed!

Plus, see more stars who love to wear CK.

“I feel like they uplift us all the time!” actress Tika Sumpter said of bags, shoes, jewelry, and all the lovely accessories that decorate her day-to-day outfits at last night’s 16th Annual Accessories Council Excellence (ACE) Awards. “Tonight, we say thank you, thank you, thank you!” And the thanks spread throughout Cipriani 42nd Street in Manhattan, as the Accessories Council honored 10 of fashion’s most influential brands and leaders. Olivia Wilde presented Vince Camuto with the Visionary Award, Tim Gunn honored Theodora and Callum founders Desiree Gruber and Stefani Greenfield with the Brand Launch of the Year Award, and Julianne Moore toasted to the Calvin Klein design team—women’s creative director Francisco Costa (pictured), men’s creative director Italo Zucchelli, and men’s and women’s shoes and accessories creative director Ulrich Grimm—with the Designer of the Year Award. (Click here to see all of the honorees.) “Accessories are so mental for women, because it really sets up the mood,” Costa told InStyle.com. “You can always tell what a woman is thinking by her shoes.” See more photos from last night’s event in the gallery, and keep clicking for additional pictures from this week’s biggest parties.

H&M Launches Maison Martin Margiela Collaboration and More

H&M celebrated its new designer collaboration with the Parisian house Maison Martin Margiela in Manhattan last night, and celebrities came to catch a glimpse of this new high-low partnership. Kanye West met Sarah Jessica Parker for the first time on the red carpet—they complimented each other on their Margiela looks—while Julianne MooreMena Suvari, and Selma Blair also made appearances. “I’m so excited to go in and see the collection, and just to be a part of it,” Blair said (though she got her hands on the collab’s LBD early and wore to the party). The bash included a boutique where guests could purchase goodies, and displayed art installations choreographed by Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker featuring Margiela-clad dancers using their bodies on the surface of sand canvases to create designs. Wild, but so totally Margiela. The lineup includes pieces for men and women and lands in H&M stores November 16th.
