What a day at the InStyle pop-up portrait studio at the Sundance Film Festival! Over 30 stars came through from nine different casts to take their photos (see them in April’s InStyle issue!) and we caught up with the actors and actresses as they relaxed on our comfy couches in between takes. “It’s my sixth time to the Sundance Film Festival and to me, it’s just a momentous occasion for me in my life,” Joseph Gordon-Levitt told InStyle.com of premiering Don Jon’s Addiction at the festival, a film he wrote, directed, and starred in. “I’ve had the luck to have a bunch of movies that I’ve been in play here, so there’s really no where else in the world that I’d rather premiere my movie.” Click through the gallery to see Matthew McConaughey, Octavia Spencer, Tony Danza, Naomi Watts, and more star behind the scenes at Sundance!
After a few pre-festival parties that got underway in Los Angeles earlier this week, the Sundance Film Festival has officially begun! Powerhouse singers Jennifer Hudson and Alicia Keys united in Park City, Utah at Hennessy VS’s presentation of The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, a festival film starring Hudson as a struggling addict and co-executive produced by Keys. Meanwhile, the festival’s founder, Robert Redford, posed with actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt at “An Artist At The Table,” a roundtable discussion amongst independent filmmakers benefiting the Sundance Institute. Actor Phillip Friedman and The East star Brit Marling were also on-hand for the event. Click through the gallery to see all the stars at Sundance 2013!
It feels like just yesterday that we made a trip (or two) to the theater to marvel at Anne Hathaway dominating as Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s summer smash hit The Dark Knight Rises. And now we can watch her action sequences over, and over, and over again, as the last installment in the Batman trilogy is now on DVD! The movie broke the $1 billion ticket sales mark by Labor Day Weekend, a record only 10 other films (including Titanic, The Avengers, and the last Harry Potter film) can boast. The 16th annual Hollywood Film Awards last night gave insiders a glimpse into the upcoming award season! Among the many honors handed out at the ceremony, held at the Beverly Hills Hotel, John Magaro, Bella Heathcote (in Gucci), and Tom Holland (center) took home three of this year’s six Hollywood Spotlight honors, Amy Adams earned the Hollywood Supporting Actress Award, Joseph Gordon-Levitt presented Marion Cotillard (in Christian Dior) with the Hollywood Actress Award, and Bradley Cooper (in Tom Ford) picked up the Hollywood Actor Award. “I’m just happy that the movie is being recognized,” Cooper told InStyle.com of receiving the award for his work on Silver Linings Playbook, which co-stars Jennifer Lawrence. “To be recognized alongside these other projects is awesome!” Amanda Seyfried, Tom Ford, and Kerry Washington also made surprise appearances to present this year’s honorees. Premium Rush stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jamie Chung, and Dania Ramirez hugged it out at the premiere of their new action flick at the Union Square Regal in New York City last night. Chung Instagrammed a photo of the film’s posters on the way to the event with the caption, “Ahhh butterflies and nerves!” However, there was no need to be nervous—she looked great in cobalt Cushnie et Ochs. Step aside, Anne Hathaway—we can’t get enough of Joseph Gordon-Levitt! The 31-year-old actor keeps looking better and better on his promo tour for his role as John Blake/Robin in The Dark Knight Rises (in theaters Friday), and it’s about time we take a look. Things we noticed: He likes skinny ties (sometimes with diagonal stripes), a clean, sharp-fitting suit, and a good vest. Click through the gallery for some JGL eye candy. Because, why not?!
