Kanye West expresses his love of fashion in interesting ways: The rapper tapped Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci to design the cover art for his new song, “H.A.M.” (above), the first single off his new album Watch the Throne. You’ll notice the artwork includes crowns, stars and daggers, common themes in the designer’s clothing, as shown here on Tisci (center, with Ciara and West), in his jewelry and on the runway (seen at the Givenchy fall 2010 ready-to-wear show at right). Could this be a sign that we’ll hear a shout-out to Tisci in West’s next song? The track, which features Jay-Z, drops tomorrow.

Forbes Magazine just released their annual Celebrity 100 Power List, which features some familiar faces—and some surprising newcomers. Oprah Winfrey, who earned an estimated $315 million in the past year, topped the list.  Lady Gaga came in at No. 4, earning $62 million after not even making the list last year. Forbes.com cited that Gaga’s success and thus high placement is due to “a mixture of extreme theatricality, catchy hooks and an image that is edgy, yet business friendly.” She also beat out other top-performing pop contenders including Taylor Swift (who ranked at 12) and Madonna (who snagged 10th place). Another newbie? Twilight Saga star Robert Pattinson, who placed right in the middle at No. 50.  Other top performers included Beyonce Knowles and hubby Jay-Z (places 2 and 15, respectively), James Cameron (for his flick Avatar) and Tiger Woods. For the complete list see forbes.com.

The sizzling star turnout at this weekend’s annual Coachella Music Festival rivaled the desert heat! Kate Bosworth (in a Suno dress and Joie sandals), Rachel Bilson (in a Brigid Catiis shirt, Paige Denim shorts, Joie sandals and Ray Bans) and Beyonce were among the stylish set who flocked to the Indio Valley, California polo fields to see an amazing lineup of artists, including Jay-Z, Muse and the Gorillaz. Jay-Z surprised Friday night’s audience by performing “Forever Young” with wife Beyonce, who rocked the stage in cut-off True Religion jean shorts and a Wildfox Couture off-the-shoulder tee.  When they weren’t braving the heat to see their favorite bands and DJs, stars such as Bilson, Camilla Belle and Kristen Stewart sought shade at various parties such as Lacoste’s poolside bash in Indio. What artists brought Bilson out to Coachella? “I was really excited to see Jay-Z. Once he came out, it was just amazing,” she told us. “It was so crazy. We almost left but decided to stay. I’m glad I saw [Beyonce perform].” When it came to stylishly surviving the desert festival, the actress recommended one of her favorite trends this season. “I’m really loving backpacks,” she said. “They make things so much easier!” Click on to see more stylish stars at Coachella.
