Runway Looks We Love: Jason Wu

Jason Wu, the designer behind the insanely-popular new Target capsule, conquered the second day of New York Fashion Week with a collection that epitomized ’40s Hollywood with a Chinese twist, a la Marlene Dietrich in The Shanghai Express. Deconstructed Chinese motifs appeared throughout (clouds were hand-painted on silk pieces), punctuated by unexpected textures like sheared mink and Swarvoski crystals. If you can’t wait for the Jason Wu for Target capsule collection, you’re not the only one! Blake Lively, Emmy Rossum, Jaime King and Chloe Moretz were among the celebrities who toasted to the collaboration at the opening of a Jason Wu for Target pop-up store in New York last night, all wearing pieces from the lineup. “I get so excited when I see women wear my clothes,” Wu told us on the red carpet. “I’m such a nerd, I go up to them and I tell them that they look really great even though they don’t know who I am. I just think that for somebody to purchase something that I designed, at any price, is a true compliment and true testament to what I do.” We agree!
