Jane Lynch’s Emmys Jewelry: Worth Over $700,000!

Sep 18, 2011 @ 11:20 pm

Did Jane Lynch dazzle at the 2011 Emmys? Her jewelry sure did! That’s because New York jewelry shop Doyle & Doyle accessorized the actress in over $700,000 worth of antique and estate baubles. “We selected pieces that we knew would speak to Jane,” says Pamela Doyle, who co-owns the store with sister Elizabeth and flew to Los Angeles to work with Lynch for the big night. “Our inspiration was Greta Garbo, since she is Jane’s favorite actress. We focused on jewelry we felt Greta herself would have loved.” Click through the gallery for a closer look at Lynch’s luxurious gems.

Jane Lynch to Host 2011 Emmys!

Jun 3, 2011 @ 1:40 pm

It’s official—Jane Lynch is hosting the 2011 Emmys! The Glee star will kick off this year’s broadcast on Sunday, September 18th, and she’s the first woman to do so since Ellen DeGeneres hosted in 2005! “Jane was my first—and my only—choice as host or this year’s Primetime Emmys, and I am glad she said yes,” said Emmys executive producer Mark Burnett said in a statement. Lynch is no stranger to the awards show—she won a best supporting actress Emmy last year for her portrayal of Glee‘s Sue Sylvester, and she’s also been nominated as a guest actress in a comedy for her work on Two and a Half Men. Emmy nominations will be announced at 8:40 a.m. EST on Thursday, July 14th. In the meantime, check out our coverage of last year’s Emmy Awards!

We couldn’t help but notice that many of the most stylish ladies in Hollywood have been keeping it short and sweet when it comes to their hair. Actually, make that short and sexy. We caught up with the head of Glee‘s makeup department, Eryn Krueger Mekash to get the inside scoop on just why the cast looks so effortlessly good. “I was asked to do the pilot in the fall of 2008 and it has really become a makeup artist’s ideal show,” she told us. Special episodes, of course, have been a highlight. The “Thriller” episode that aired after the Super Bowl featured 25 zombies in full prosthetics—which called for a staff of 19 makeup artists. But Krueger Mekash has also spent hours perfecting the character’s flawless, everyday looks—and it shows. (The makeup department has been nominated for two Emmys!) Click through our gallery to see the key products that make Rachel, Quinn and Mercedes glow. And tune in to FOX tonight at 8/7c for a brand new episode!

The Producers Guild Awards Red Carpet

Jan 24, 2011 @ 10:29 am

Kerry Washington, Amy Adams and Helen Mirren were among the celebrities in Beverly Hills on Saturday night celebrating the 22nd Annual Producers Guild Awards. Washington, pictured, wore a peach dress with sheer inserts by Hervé Léger for the occasion—she presented the documentary category—and accessorized with Alexis Bittar earrings and Rene Caovilla heels (inset). Look closely at her shoes—they include ivory beads on the straps and Swarovski crystals along the heel, which is what gives them a $1,400 price tag. Fancy! See what the rest of the celebrities wore to the Producers Guild Awards in the gallery.

You can stand under her umbrella, ella, ella. Gwyneth Paltrow is making a guest appearance as a substitute teacher on Glee, and we’ve got the pictures to prove it! The blond actress will belt out a mash-up of “Singing in the Rain” and Rihanna’s mega-hit “Umbrella.” (Um-amazing.) Jane Lynch spoke to People.com about how her character reacts to the new teacher: “It’s friendly—and then, of course, as with all relationships with Sue Sylvester, it turns antagonistic.” Things between Jane and Gwyneth seem perfectly rosy off-screen though: “I did a couple of scenes with Gwyneth. She’s got the goods. She can sing, she can dance. I really was [blown away].” To see Gwyneth strut her stuff, tune in at 8 p.m. ET on Fox on November 16th. And don’t forget, she’s singing live at tomorrow night’s Country Music Awards too!
