Isaac Mizrahi Appeared on Cake Boss Last Night!

Mar 29, 2011 @ 5:21 pm

Isaac Mizrahi knows the perfect accessory to complement a spring dresscake! The designer appeared on last night’s fashion-themed episode of Cake Boss, where he tasked pastry chef Buddy Valastro with making seven fashion-inspired confections for his fall 2011 runway show, which filmed February 17th. Mizrahi wanted his models to carry the cakes down the catwalk, and the show’s dessert geniuses decided to make them out of styrofoam so they would be light enough to carry without toppling over. In case you missed it, catch a preview of Mizrahi critiquing Valastro’s sugary creations here. TLC will also replay the “Designer, Deadlines & Diagnosis” episode throughout the season. Runway Looks We Love: Isaac Mizrahi

Feb 18, 2011 @ 3:01 pm

Isaac Mizrahi titled his fall 2011 collection “Cake”—and he meant it both literally and figuratively. For a literal interpretation, cute waiters carried bow, pearl, flower petal and glitter-decorated cakes that matched the prints seen on Mizrahi’s clothes down the runway on silver platters. As for the clothes, they were classic and ladylike, clean and unadorned. Models led brightly-colored poodles, which were dyed to match the outfits, down the runway while also toting fun fur bags. Click through the gallery to see our favorite looks from Isaac Mizrahi’s fall 2011 collection.
