For a collection inspired by nature, Herve Leger by Max Azria’s fall runway had some serious street appeal! ”Every season when we start, we start with the bandage, and what we could add to it,” creative director Lubov Azria told InStyle.com. “This time, we were inspired by the textures found in nature, like lilypads and ocelots. We just went for it.” In turn, the looks ranged from cropped tops and pencil skirts to sparkling cocktail numbers, with additions of sheer jersey crewnecks and fox fur “sweatshirts.” To add extra urban jungle appeal, each design—whether studded, sequined or harnessed—was fittingly topped off with a black baseball cap. It’s the holidays, the season of sparkle and glamour—and we gave you plenty of both on Instagram this week! InStyle editors took followers inside the BCBG showroom to preview Herve Leger‘s latest designs and down to Art Basel in Miami where Christian Louboutin‘s spiked pumps caught our eye. See more of this week’s best photos in the gallery, and come back every Saturday for our favorite shots.
Inspired by the “the sultry South” and the traditional art of quilt making, Herve Leger‘s spring collection featured embroidery, patchwork and appliques. The label’s signature bandage dresses ranged from sexy cutout styles to sweet flared designs and were even joined by a pantsuit! With a color palette of black white and blush, surprise pop-of-color blue sapphire numbers were standouts as were the label’s tough leather accessories. See our favorite looks in the gallery!
When asked whether she’d rather see Michelle Obama or Ann Romney in her Herve Leger designs, Lubov Azria did not hesitate with her reply: “Michelle Obama.” Although she understands that the First Lady has a few wardrobe restrictions (“obviously she is in public”), Azria vouches for the functionality of the label’s classic bandage dress. “When she wears those shift dresses, I’m like, try Herve Leger on,” she told InStyle.com. “It never wrinkles and you’ll never look bad!”

We’re asking Emily Maynard about her favorite outfit from each episode of The Bachelorette this season, and last night she only had one look, so she had to make it count. And did she ever! “Have you ever had that awkward run in with your ex and looked like a mess?” Maynard told InStyle.com. (Been there!) “We all have, and I was for sure not going to let that happen to me at the ‘Men Tell All’ episode. The Bachelorette stylist, Cary Fetman, brought me a hot pink Hervé Léger bandage dress, which in a perfect world is exactly what all women are wearing when they see their ex, much less a room full of them!” Way to knock ‘em dead, don’t you think? (Similar versions are available to rent for $150 or less at renttherunway.com.) Next week, we find out who she chooses—Jef or Arie. Tune into ABC Monday at 8/7c to find out, and tell us: Which one would you pick for Em?

It’s a little bit country over here! The nation’s country stars (and the celebrities who love them) wore their sparkliest outfits to last night’s CMT Music Awards, held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Ashley Greene chose feather-covered and bead-embellished Donna Karan, Carrie Underwood wore Randi Rahm‘s silver pailette design, and Kellie Pickler picked form-fitting Herve Leger by Max Azria featuring gold hardware. See what everyone else wore to this country party in the gallery!
On last night’s episode of American Idol, Jennifer Lopez continued her streak of sexy looks in a metallic cut-out Hervé Léger bandage dress. She paired the gutsy design with barely-there strappy sandals and platinum bangles. At his spring 2012 fashion show, Hervé Léger designer Max Azria offered a tip for going bold: “Find the pieces that work for you and make you feel good about yourself.” It looks like Lopez followed his advice! Click through the gallery to browse her hottest looks from this season, and tune in to FOX tonight at 8/7c to to catch more of the host’s American Idol style moments.

When asked which of her co-stars’ hearts she would “take” and which one she would “stake,” she totally surprised us! “I would stake Klaus (Joseph Morgan),” she began. “But as Elena, I would take Matt (Zach Roerig) because he was in love with her and she loved him.” Zing! Take that, Salvatore boys! Now it’s your turn: Which of Mystic Falls’ many male vampires owns your beating heart? Click “Take the Poll” below to cast your vote!
