Zuma and Kingston Rossdale Model for Mom Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani’s new children’s line Harajuku Mini for Target landed in stores this weekend, and the singer celebrated with a party at Jim Henson Studios in Hollywood. Her muses—sons Zuma, 3, and Kingston, 5, Rossdale—joined their multi-tasking mom on stage after a pint-sized fashion show. “I just love kids clothing,” Stefani told InStyle.com. “When I had kids, I was like, ‘Boys? What?’ But I’ve had so much fun dressing them. I love it!” So what has the pre-school set taught her? “They teach me to mind my own business and let them dress how they want,” she said. “They do their own thing. They’re little humans. And it’s fun to be part of it and to watch them.” And they do quite a nice job!

The rock star/fashion designer’s first children’s line, which includes accessories and apparel for babies, toddlers, and tweens, is priced from $4 to $30. “The kids clothes are a reflection of things I wear,” Stefani told InStyle for the cover story of our November issue. Gwen Stefani’s capsule collection Harajuku Mini for Target is almost here! The retailer just released photos of the rock star fashion designer’s first children’s line, which includes accessories and apparel for babies, toddlers, and tweens, priced from $4 to $30. “The kids clothes are a reflection of things I wear,” Stefani told InStyle (she’s our November cover girl). And references to her own wardrobe are clear—plaid pants reminiscent of her look in No Doubt’s “Spiderwebs” video, and a faux-leather jacket and dress combo that looks like a smaller version of a recent L.A.M.B. runway look. Gwen Stefani is InStyle’s November cover girl! In this issue, the rock star designer opens up about doing so much in so many arenas—fashion (she launches her third line Harajuku Mini for Target mid-November), music (a new No Doubt album is slated for next year), and family (“being a mother is probably the most challenging thing I do,” she says of parenting Kingston, 5, and Zuma, 3, with husband Gavin Rossdale). What’s her secret? “At work I’ve learned how to delegate. You don’t have to be on a ladder in a warehouse, micromanaging. You can be at home. And teamwork is also such a big part of marriage and parenting.” She also delves into another area of expertise—beauty. “My hair color is L’Oréal, but I won’t reveal the number,” says Stefani, a spokesperson for the brand. “And I do my roots as often as Marilyn Monroe did hers. I’m serious. I found out.” Though, she wasn’t always blond. “Right after we came home from the first No Doubt tour I felt like I might get recognized, so I colored my hair red. And I hated it.” As for her famous red lips? “The makeup goes on every day, even if I’m not going anywhere.” For more of our exclusive interview, pick up the November issue, on newsstands Friday, October 21st.
