Blake Lively’s Favorite Type of Gift Is…

Dec 18, 2012 @ 4:41 pm

With Gossip Girl behind her, Blake Lively has her sights set on the holidays! The star, who is the face of Gucci‘s Premiere scent, offered her tip on picking a gift that keeps giving year-round. “I think the most important gift is something that lasts. You go through the holidays with all of your nieces and nephews and you see all the amazing toys they get, and they’re just on the floor five minutes later,” she said. “I think that things that last are memories—whether it’s a photo album, something that was a meaningful moment, or something that you make.” But if DIY projects aren’t your forté, Lively suggests another option. “We all within our family would buy each other different fragrances, because it tells a story about each different time period in your life, and it’s a nice identifier,” she added. See what else she had to say in the video above.

Gossip Girl: Blair Waldorf’s Wedding Dress by Elie Saab

Dec 18, 2012 @ 10:55 am

Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) finally got their fairytale ending during last night’s Gossip Girl series finale! The couple married in Central Park with the bride dressed in a light blue lace Elie Saab gown from the designer’s spring 2012 couture collection. “When I saw the Elie Saab dress finally chosen for Blair’s wedding to Chuck, it was absolutely perfect for her,” Gossip Girl’s costume designer Eric Daman told InStyle.com. “It needed to feel like old world glamour meets contemporary high fashion.” Certainly, the non-traditional color met those requirements. “I liked the beautiful blue hue,” he added. “It reminded me of the wedding dress Wallis Simpson wore during her scandalous wedding to The Duke of Windsor.” Gorgeous!
