The stars stepped out in bulk to celebrate their stylists at THR‘s Top Stylist Luncheon last week! And while these dressing mavens see their famous clients ’round the clock, we were charmed to discover that even Petra Flannery, who styles Emma Stone, Zoe Saldana, and Claire Danes, gets starstruck when she sees one of her actresses in the perfect look. Her top 2013 looks so far: Danes at the Golden Globes in Versace Couture. “It was made and we were only able to try it on the night before! It was such a triumphant moment to have it all work out.” She also loved Saldana, who stood by her stylist’s side throughout the event, in that ruffled Alexis Mabille dress for this year’s Oscars. And finally, she told us that she adored Stone’s all-red Lanvin look for the Gangster Squad premiere. “It was one of those moments where the more you started adding, the better it got,” she said, referencing the addition of crimson heels and a ruby necklace. “It was a glamorous ’80s look, but because she’s modern and fresh and youthful, she pulled it off.” And we agreed—all of these ensembles made their way into our Look of the Day roundup!

Check out more of the looks we’ve loved in our Look of the Day lookbook.

What Was Olivia Wilde’s Most Memorable Red Carpet Ever?

Feb 12, 2013 @ 6:07 pm

Olivia Wilde’s Marchesa gown from the 2011 Golden Globes is on our list of unforgettable award show dresses, and it’s just as memorable for the star. “I always feel really honored to wear pieces like that because they really should be put in a museum, it was like a work of art,” Wilde told InStyle.com at the launch of Revlon’s ColorSilk Buttercream hair color. “When I walked out of my room the day after, the dress was sitting in the middle of the living room with thousands of pounds of tulle billowing out from under it, and it just looked like this incredible sculpture!” With a dress so big, she did have to make special accommodations. “I was driving home at the end of the night with all the tulle piled on my lap, and I had to create a window in the fabric so it wouldn’t block my view,” she added. “I was thinking ‘I hope I don’t get stopped,’ but I also could have been like, ‘Officer, look at this gown! Look at my Marchesa!’” Well, it is an arresting look, isn’t it?
