Grammys 2013: The Year of the Snake Represented on the Red Carpet

Today is the first day of the Chinese New Year, which means it’s a fresh start in the Chinese zodiac, too—welcome to the Year of the Snake! With the Grammys the same day, snakes represented big on the red carpet. Florence Welch accessorized her Givenchy gown with a snake ring, Giuliana Rancic topped off her Carlos Miele look with a Le Vian ring wrapped around her finger, and Rihanna added a 100-carat diamond and platinum serpentine bracelet and ruby serpent rings by Neil Lane to her look, pieces worth a total of $2 million. To a happy new year!

Happy October! Autumn’s first full month is also National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which has focused attention on the disease and helped raise funds to fight it for the past 25 years. Life keeps getting better for Giuliana Rancic! On one hand, she and husband Bill welcomed new son Edward Duke this week, and on the other, she’s getting ready to launch her first collection for HSN, G by Giuliana Rancic. The television personality sent InStyle.com a first look at what we can expect: a mix of camera-ready dresses and skirts, Hollywood-inspired faux leather and fur jackets, and wear-anywhere black leggings. “Creating G by Giuliana Rancic is my dream and I am so excited to bring my collection to HSN,” Rancic told InStyle.com exclusively. “My designs are all about fit, function, and, of course, fabulous style… three things that every woman needs in their wardrobe.” Hear more from Rancic in the video above, and watch more on HSN’s Facebook page. Bill and Giuliana Rancic Welcome Son Edward Duke

And baby makes three! Giuliana and Bill Rancic welcomed son Edward Duke to their family last night in Denver, who as born at 10:12 p.m. via a surrogate, weighing in at 7 pounds, 4 ounces. “Bill and I are blessed beyond words to welcome Edward into our lives,” Giuliana told E! News. “Thank you so much to everyone who supported us along the way. We are so in love with the little guy already!” Both parents were in the room at the moment of birth. We’re so happy for the couple and their new little one!

Do Something Awards: Cute Couples and Summer Style

These couples know how to Do Something together! Last night’s Do Something Awards in Santa Monica boasted a red carpet of go-getting doers, including cute on- and off-screen celebrity couples like Hit & Run’s Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell (in Jenni Kayne), Glee’s Cory Monteith and Lea Michele (in Giorgio Armani), and Giuliana & Bill’s Giuliana (in Cengiz Abazoglu) and Bill Rancic. All were on hand to be a part of dosomething.org’s mission of honoring the top world-changers under 25 with grants (winners also take home the Do Something Silver Shoe, which looks like the Jeremy Scott for Adidas wing sneakers). Giuliana Rancic and LOFT Team Up for a Good Cause

Giuliana Rancic is pretty in pink! The television host and breast cancer survivor teamed up with LOFT to create the “Live in Pink” capsule collection in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with 25% of sales going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. “It’s an unbelievable foundation that actually helped me a lot when I was going through everything,” Rancic told InStyle.com. “It was a no-brainer for me. I love fashion and I love helping people talk about breast cancer awareness.” Her lineup includes clothes, shoes, and jewelry, like a limited-edition rhinestone chain necklace (designed by Giuliana herself), all in eye-popping shades of pink, like raspberry, fuchsia, and rose. The collection ranges from $34 to $90 and lands in LOFT stores and at loft.com this October—but you can preview all of the pieces in the gallery.
