Jessica Biel turns 31 today! Justin Timberlake’s better half often makes our Look of the Day list choosing stylish pieces even the designers themselves fawn over. “Jessica is a great chameleon,” Giambattista Valli, the man behind Biel’s gorgeous pink wedding dress, told InStyle. “She can do the Venice Beach surfer look one minute and divine diva the next.” And whether she’s wearing separates, shifts, or stunning gowns, the birthday girl always looks fashionable in her red carpet styles. Anne Hathaway’s Busy (and Chic) Awards Season Red Carpet Run

Anne Hathaway is now an Oscar-winning actress. She wore Prada (left) when she took home the golden statue for Best Supporting Actress for her tear-jerking portrayal of Fantine in Les Miserables, and she took one very long, well-dressed road to get to that Oscars stage. At the annual nominees luncheon before the big day, she still didn’t know what she would wear. “I need to get on that, don’t I?” she told reporters. “I definitely have some ideas, some cool options, but no specific plans yet, no preparation.” Whether she was wearing (L to R) Gucci at the Costume Designers Guild Awards, Chanel Couture at the Golden Globes, or runway-fresh Giambattista Valli at the SAG Awards, Hathaway always put her best foot forward—and she only repeated designers twice. Anne Hathaway’s Dress Traveled From Paris to the SAG Awards

Jan 28, 2013 @ 10:25 am

Anne Hathaway’s Giambattista Valli Haute Couture goes the distance… literally! The black embroidered tulle dress the actress wore to the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards is a creation that just debuted in Paris six days ago, on the runway at Giambattista Valli’s fashion show during Haute Couture Fashion Week. Hathaway completed the look with peep toe Jimmy Choo heels and a butterfly manicureGood thing that dress was such a standout: The actress stood before audiences at home and in L.A. to accept her Outstanding Supporting Actress award for Les Miserables.

Jessica Biel’s Wedding Dress: Pink Giambattista Valli

Oct 24, 2012 @ 10:27 am

When the gorgeous Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake tied the knot in Southern Italy last Friday, the bride wore a custom Giambattista Valli Haute Couture wedding dress—and it was pink! The strapless silk mousseline and silk organza gown featured a pale pink floral motif and ruffles aplenty. Valli also incorporated Biel’s “something old” into her wedding look: The Italian designer created the veil using heirloom pearls from her grandmother’s wedding day tiara. Biel also paired the gown with Martin Katz Fine Jewelry light yellow pear-shaped diamond drop earrings set in 18kt rose gold; the baubles were microset with 96 fancy pink diamonds. And now for the awww factor… People reports that Timberlake played the guitar and serenaded Biel as she walked down the aisle. “It was an original piece I wrote specifically for the evening and for her,” Timberlake (who wore a Tom Ford tux he helped design) said. Guests at the ceremony included funny guys Jimmy Fallon and Timberlake’s former SNL cohort Andy Samberg. Congratulations to the happy couple! We’re jumping for joy right alongside you, Justin.

It took less than a second for The Master star Amy Adams to get compliments on the garden-inspired ensemble by Giambattista Valli she wore to the InStyle portrait studio at the Toronto International Film Festival. Though, if she had to pick between the way a dress looks and the way it feels, feeling trumps comfort all the way. “I want to feel like myself, so I rarely look in the mirror,” she told InStyle.com of how she picks her outfits, which also included a black Marchesa dress for her premiere and a Giambattista Valli sequin-covered look earlier in the week. “Sometimes I’ll love something and we’ll take a picture and then I’ll look and go, ‘Oh, that does not look good but it feels good.’” Eventually, she does take a peek, though. “I do [look in the mirror], but it’s not the first thing,” she said. “The first thing is not, what does this look like, it’s always what does it feel like. I’m a very tactile person.” Tell us: Do you pick your clothes by the way they look or the way you feel?
