In case you haven’t heard by now, Sandra Bullock and George Clooney‘s film Gravity is an out-of-this-world (literally) space thriller and just days after it opened in theaters everywhere on Friday, it broke box office records with an October weekend opening of $55.6 million. The Alfonso Cuarón-directed film had us on the edge of our seats for the full hour and 31 minutes—sometimes in moments of pure silence (because in space, there is no noise). We watched as Dr. Ryan Stone (Bullock) and veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney) fought to survive after a disaster destroys their shuttle and they are left with no contact to Earth. With just four days out in theaters, fans (including one of InStyle’s cover girls, Olivia Wilde, and rock legend Sebastian Bach), have taken to Twitter to rave about the breathtaking blockbuster hit. Scroll down to see all of their reactions — we promise there are no spoilers! More

It was all about George Clooney and Sandra Bullock at last night’s Gravity premiere at New York City’s AMC Loews Lincoln Square. The duo celebrated their highly anticipated lost-in-space thriller directed by Alfonso Cuarón, which opened the Venice Film Festival back in September. Bullock, who wore a white draped Giambattista Valli dress, stars in the film as Dr. Ryan Stone, a medical engineer on her first shuttle mission along with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski (Clooney), who both get disconnected from the ship during a routine spacewalk and find themselves stranded and free-floating through space. With no contact to Mission Control on Earth and their oxygen supply running out, the two must find their way back to safety. With Oscar buzz already starting for the actress’s performance, it looks like this film might be one of Bullock’s most thrilling role yet! Catch Gravity in theaters everywhere on October 4th.

While Sandra Bullock‘s recent red carpet style run has been giving us a serious case of closet envy, her character’s spin-out in low Earth orbit did not make us one bit jealous. In fact, it made us feel short of breath. Starring opposite George Clooney in their new film, Gravity, Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a medical engineer on her first shuttle mission who gets disconnected from the ship mid-spacewalk. Unable to make contact with Mission Control on Earth, the two astronauts must find safety before their oxygen supply runs out. We’ve seen Bullock in a number of action-packed roles, but we think this one ranks as one of her most thrilling yet. Watch the trailer above, then catch Gravity in theaters starting October 4th.

George Clooney accepted the Brass Ring Award for his humanitarian work in Sudan at the 26th Anniversary Carousel of Hope Ball this weekend, which was presented by Mercedes-Benz and raised $2.5 million for the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes. “It’s pretty amazing,” Clooney told reporters of the cause. “I think it’s important for everyone to give back.” Singers Babyface and American Idol alum Jessica Sanchez serenaded the crowd, which also included Dancing With the Stars pro Cheryl Burke (in Amit Gt), judge Carrie Ann Inaba (in David Meister), Carmen Electra (in Olcay Gulsen), Julianne Hough (in Jenny Packham) and Jennie Garth (in Toujouri). However, it was Neil Diamond’s set that brought Jane Fonda, Stacy Keibler (in Monique Lhuillier), and Clooney to their feet.
