Fresh’s Creme Ancienne Infusion Toner Has a Royal History

Jan 20, 2012 @ 5:40 pm

Creme Ancienne Infusion Toner  may be Fresh’s newest product, but it’s based on one of the world’s oldest beauty formulas. When Fresh co-founder Lev Glazman was doing cosmetics research, he stumbled upon the recipe for an emulsion cream created for Emperor Marcus Aurelius, and used to heal gladiators’ wounds. Using the same ingredients (plus hydrating bamboo water and Hyaluronic acid to minimize fine lines), Glazman created Fresh’s new toner —a modern update on the ancient beauty fix. If merely seeing the big-screen adaptation of Eat, Pray, Love isn’t enough for you, we’ve got good news: Thanks to Fresh, you’ll now be able to smell like author Elizabeth Gilbert’s journey through Italy, India, and Indonesia. On July 15, the beauty brand will release a trio of signature scents—available as eau de parfums and candles—inspired by the Julia Roberts film. “Eat” balances heavier scents like vanilla and caramel with notes of lemon and basil; “Pray” is an amalgam of woodsy and spicy fragrances such as jasmine, patchouli, and pink pepper; and “Love ” features bergamot, jasmine, and sandalwood. They’ll be available on Fresh.com, in plenty of time to perfume yourself for the movie’s August premiere.
