Elizabeth Giardina is certainly a busy woman. In addition to working as the design director for 10 Crosby Derek Lam, she’s also been training to run in Sunday’s ING NYC Marathon, taking place across all five of New York City’s boroughs. Taking on the marathon is no easy task — the first wave is scheduled to start at 9:40 AM, and will run all day as participants make their way through Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan. We caught up with Giardina to find out about the essentials she needs to make it across the finish line, and the fitness items she’ll be taking with her to the race. True Blood star Anna Paquin welcomed twins Charlie and Poppy with husband and co-star Stephen Moyer, last September and she showed off her post-baby at the season six premiere in Los Angeles this week. Walking the “blood red” carpet in a form-fitting David Koma LBD, we had to ask what her secret was for snapping back into her svelte shape. The trick? Stroller duty! ”I have always been pretty active, but pushing a double jogging stroller is not specifically easy,” Paquin told InStyle.com. “It’s a good workout. Everyone’s favorite action figures are going live-action again with G.I. Joe: Retaliation! In the film, stars Channing Tatum, Bruce Willis, and Adrianne Palicki go head-to-head with the Cobra Commander and his team of enemy forces, so we caught up with Palicki to find out how she geared up for battle. “We were trained by Navy SEALs eight hours a day for a month straight, and they covered everything from stunts to unit training,” the star told InStyle.com at the launch for Axe’s Face line. “It was intense, but I was in the best shape of my life! I guess that’s what eight hours a day will do for you.” She had a similar rough-and-tumble approach to her beauty routine on set, too. “I don’t mind heat, but when you’re trying to look attractive, it’s really frustrating when all your makeup is melting onto your face,” she said. “Thankfully, [my character] Lady Jaye isn’t a girly-girl, so I didn’t have to worry about that, but I got to have one glam moment in the film where I’m undercover.” The best of both worlds!
