Salvatore Ferragamo Resort 2012: Ashley Greene, Freida Pinto, More!

What brings Ashley Greene, Freida Pinto, Eva Mendes, Emma Roberts, and Minka Kelly together on a Tuesday afternoon? A great fashion show. And they got one, as celebrity-favorite Italian label Salvatore Ferragamo touched down in New York yesterday to present its 2012 resort collection. Held in the classic James B. Duke Mansion on Fifth Avenue, creative director Massimiliano Giornetti paraded sleek suits, sailor chic looks, and glamorous gowns reminiscent of the 1930s down the runway. A palette of white, ivory, shades of blue, and metallics stretched across the clothes, shoes, and bags—some with chain detail—while Fred Leighton provided the fine jewelry that accessorized the looks. Every piece of the presentation, from the clothes to the venue, emitted elegance. Click through to see more stars in the front row and the complete runway presentation.

2011 Critics’ Choice Awards: Must-See Red Carpet Looks

The red carpet fashion at the 2011 Critics’ Choice Awards on Friday night featured a pop of winter whites. Best Actress winner Natalie Portman wore a single-strap white Gianfranco Ferré gown with a black band at the top, and paired it with Fred Leighton jewelry, Stella McCartney shoes and a Christian Dior clutch. Michelle Williams also chose white, her variation being a Balenciaga dress with embroidered floral details. She finished the look with Salvatore Ferragamo shoes and Neil Lane jewelry. Johnny Depp Buys Marilyn Monroe’s Shoes For Vanessa Paradis

As if we weren’t jealous enough of Vanessa Paradis for snagging Johnny Depp, we now have one more reason: Depp recently purchased Paradis a pair of Marilyn Monroe’s shoes—vintage Ferragamos, at that. Paradis reportedly has an affinity for the star, saying “Monroe’s someone who touches me really deeply. I truly admire both the actress and singer that she was. I love ‘Lazy’ and so many of her songs. She had a velvety voice.” And with shoes belonging to Monroe being auctioned off for approximately $42,000 ten years ago, we would bet Depp’s gift cost him a pretty penny. Not that we’d complain if he got us a pair either.

Angelina Jolie’s White-Hot Summer Style

Angelina Jolie is back in the spotlight, promoting her new action flick Salt. In the film, which hits theaters July 23, she plays CIA agent Evelyn Salt—a role in which we’re confident Jolie is going to seriously (and stylishly) kick butt. And to promote the movie, the star made a stop in sunny Cancun (with her family in tow) wearing summer’s chicest style—a little white dress. Jolie chose a strapless version from Atelier Versace and kept her accessories simple, wearing a cuff bracelet, drop earrings and nude Ferragamo peep-toe pumps. We love her light-as-air goddess look—its a nice break from the dark colors she typically favors.
