While we’re still mulling over the spring 2014 collections, Thierry Lasry and Fendi are looking ahead to the far future. A Fendi eyewear capsule collection designed by Thierry Lasry will launch in spring 2015, which is the first type of venture for Fendi and the first time Lasry will collaborate with a luxury brand. ”Thierry Lasry is one of the most creative and coolest eyewear designers of the moment. We are sure this partnership will bring further energy and vibration to our brand,” said Fendi CEO Pietro Beccari in a statement. Combining the common values of savoir faire, innovation, tradition and experimentation, the collaboration between Lasry and Fendi is sure to hit the mark. Lasry’s designs are distinguished by a futuristic twist on retro shapes, often with a 1980s vibe and a rock ’n’ roll touch — which will prove interesting when mashed-up with Fendi’s sense of elegance and tradition. Between this, its buggy charms, and spring 2014′s eclectic Delfina Delettrez-designed jewelry, we’d say Fendi is seriously upping its cool factor. This is definitely one collaboration we can’t wait to see!

Build your outfit accessories first with breathtaking shoes and handbags curated by InStyle Accessories Director Leah Karp. Each accessory was designed with the most masterminded craftsmanship: Silvia Venturini of Fendi gave us an embroidered and beaded silk brocade baguette trimmed with fox fur and finished with a mother-of-pearl clasp and Dolce & Gabbana delivered romantic cage-like shoes that house the most delicate velvet flowers. Hand-painted pumps, a floral appliquéd metallic clutch, and a dove gray handbag so plush that it offers an instant sense of escapism await. These accessories are more like pieces of art destined to infuse your look with a fantasy-like element. And like great art, they are all worth the splurge.
We’re in the homestretch of fashion month, with yesterday as the last day of Milan Fashion Week. But before we dive into the Paris spring/summer 2014 shows, let’s take a breather to appreciate our favorite moments and looks from Italy’s fashion capital. At Gucci, Frida Giannini demonstrated the art of “meshing” glamor and athleticism in one gown (and yes, mesh was one of the fabrics). Karl Lagerfeld didn’t stop short of spectacular at Fendi, combining a genius medley of sheer fabric, shine and sheared fur in one look. And to really drive home the theme of “light,” light radiated through cascading waterfall that served as the backdrop. Another favorite moment? For Moschino‘s 30-year anniversary show, iconic models, like Pat Cleveland, Jodie Kidd, Alek Wek and more, strutted down in vintage Moschino. InStyle Market Director Wendy Wallace called it, “A really fun flashback,” especially with singer Gloria Gaynor performing “I Am What I Am.” Click to see the 5 looks that topped InStyle Fashion Director Cindy Weber Cleary’s “Look of the Day” list.
“I like to show a little bit of skin in a nice way,” Selena Gomez tells us in her cover story for the June issue of InStyle. And she’s true to her word: The 20-year-old Disney darling-turned-world superstar models a hot red Fendi one-piece swimsuit as one of the looks in her 12-page spread. Want to see more photos? It’s the week of Kate Upton! Last year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model set a new standard by making it to the cover again this year, and she’s gone all over New York City to promote the issue. And while she is most well-known for her voluptuous curves and oh-so-skimpy bikinis, her style arsenal also includes pieces that cover up—as seen in her cover press tour—like (from left) a striped purple cocktail dress, a strapless cocktail number, a modest belted dress by Fendi, and a fitted LBD. What do you think of Kate’s style off the sand?
