It’s no secret that the 3.1 Phillip Lim collection for Target was one of the most buzzed-about collaborations in the retailer’s recent history, with fans everywhere lining up as early as 4 AM to get their hands on the covetable items. A video of customers throwing down to snatch up their own satchel began making its rounds on YouTube, and last night at The Fashion Group International Night of Stars in New York City, we spoke to the designer to find out if he expected such a reaction. As it turns out, he was just as surprised as everyone else! “I saw the video! Truly, I have no words. I think that when you make something, you want to bring out the best in people, but seeing the video, I was like ‘Oh my gosh, the worst came out in people instead,’” Lim joked. “I’m so happy it was well-received, but I didn’t expect the frenzy. But maybe I’m just old-fashioned!” Unless you’re an avid eBay-er, you may have missed your chance to grab a tote of your own, but the rest of Lim’s line is still available for purchase — meaning you won’t have to elbow anyone to get your hands on the designer’s printed dresses. Click through our gallery to check out each of the items, then shop the line at target.com.
As if we couldn’t love Target any more than we already do (hello, 3.1 Phillip Lim collection!), the retailer just announced Peter Pilotto as its next designer collaboration for Spring 2014! Just off the heels of Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos’s Spring/Summer 2014 show during London Fashion Week, the duo—loved by Kerry Washington, Cate Blanchett, and Emma Watson—will create a line of women’s clothing, accessories, and swimwear that we’re hoping will have the same colorful twists of prints seen in their recent runway collection. “By working with Target, we’re able to broaden our reach and bring our design aesthetic to an entirely new audience,” said Pilotto in a statement on Target’s website. “This is a pivotal moment for our brand. Our collection for Target embodies the elegance and spirit of our own line, but makes it accessible to everyone,” added De Vos. Available beginning February 9, 2014, most of the items from the Peter Pilotto for Target line will retail for less than $60. And not only will the pieces be available at target.com, but international customers can also shop the line at net-a-porter.com! Until then, let your excitement build even more and scroll down to watch the minute-long video showcasing the collaboration.
It looks like Phillip Lim’s collection for Target hit shelves two weeks early, by accident! Confirmed by Racked, the Target in Duluth, Georgia mistakenly placed a few of the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target accessories out on display, including scarves and those covetable faux leather bags everyone wants. We’re sure the items have been pulled back by now, but how jealous are you of those who may have gotten their hands on the latest Target collaboration already? (Un)fortunately, the Duluth Target was the only retailer to make the mistake, but we’re going to check our nearest Target store just to make sure! The full collection of women’s and men’s clothing including accessories and handbags will arrive at Target stores and target.com on Sunday, September 15th. Let the countdown begin!

Sophia Bush is helping schools across the US earn more money for education — and she wants your help! The actress and activist has teamed up with Target for their second annual Give With Target campaign to donate $5 million dollars toward education, and starting today, you can lend a hand by simply voting for the school of your choosing on Facebook. “If we all put our heads together and get our social media following in touch about the education issue, we can make a difference,” Bush told InStyle.com. Target aims to donate $1 billion to schools by the end of 2015, and until September 21st, you can vote once a week for your school to win money. Once a school has reached 25 votes, Give With Target will donate $1 per entry with a maximum amount of $10,000 per school, or until the full $5 million has been allocated. ”It really ensures a lot of schools will be affected, and that each will get a great finance gift that will help to pay for whatever they need,” Bush added. The first school to reach 10,000 votes will also receive a special celebration with a live music performance and a visit by Bush and fellow Give With Target partners like Gabby Douglas, who Bush admitted “I have such a good girl crush on her, I want her to teach me to teach me to do back flip!” To help your school win money for education, visit Target’s Facebook now until September 21st.

The wait is almost over! In May, we reported that Phillip Lim was the next designer on deck for the newest Target collaboration, and last night we scored a preview to his entire collection of over 100 pieces. The line includes clothing divided into morning, noon and evening looks, and we’re obsessed with the dresses, embellished sweaters, faux leather satchels, scarves, and blouses ($20 to $300) among the covetable offerings. ”Since an early age, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of design evolution,” the designer said in a statement. “One of the reasons I wanted to collaborate with Target is because I felt that together we could create a collection that would inspire—one that is cool and chic, but still very accessible.” Plus, Lim didn’t leave the boys out of the mix — the capsule also contains an array of men’s clothing and accessories, like trousers, shoes, and more. Click the photo to get your first look at the collection, and get ready to hit the ground running when the items arrive at Target stores and target.com on September 15th. Orla Kiely’s playful prints have become a favorite of stylistas (including the women of the Middleton family) and now she’s taking them somewhere new—your technology. The Irish designer teamed up with tech accessory company Belkin to create a line of products fit for multiple generations of iPhones and iPads, each item featuring one of four popular archival prints. “We’re all so tech-y, whether we want to be or not,” Kiely told InStyle.com at the garden-themed preview party held at her store in SoHo. “Everybody’s got iPhones. Everybody’s got iPads. We kind of depend on them now. It’s just part of our lifestyle in a way, so it was a nice thing to do. All in all, I think it’s a great product.” Pal and Alexa Chung agrees: “She comes up with such beautiful and inspiring joyful stuff,” the DJ told us in between spinning tunes for the soiree. “I don’t know what’s going on in her mind, but it’s something that’s sunny and bright and positive.” The collection will be sold at Target, joining the assortment of Kiely offerings that have been available at the retailer since 2009, including the items seen here: Abacus iPad case ($60), Optic-Stem iPhone case ($40), Multi-Stem iPad case ($60), and the Wallflower iPhone 5 wallet case ($50).
