Throughout Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie made Manolo Blahnik part of her daily lexicon, and now we get to see how her love affair with fancy footwear began. On tonight’s new episode of The Carrie Diaries, the young Carrie (AnnaSophia Robb) receives her first pair of Manolos, a scene so momentous, costume designer Eric Daman had to find just the right pair of shoes. His pick—a pointed-toe green lime green design embellished with gemstones. “I totally fell in love with the velvet and pearl,” Daman told InStyle.com of the heels. “They’re so ‘80s aspirational.” And in order to get them just right, he had to call in a special order. “We had to have Carrie’s first Manolos custom made in Italy to fit AnnaSophia Robb’s petite feet.” A shoe match made in heaven!
