Nicole Richie’s Impulse Collection at Macy’s: See All 25 Pieces

Aug 31, 2012 @ 8:30 am

Nicole Richie is a busy woman! Not only did she launch her eponymous fragrance and QVC collection this week, but she’s prepping to release her capsule for Macy’s Impulse department, a 25-piece collection peppered with the bohemian style she’s famous for. “When I’m creating, I don’t try to focus too much on the differences [between my collections],” Richie told InStyle.com. “You’ll see that they’re all still very much me and my aesthetic. There’s a little Winter Kate and House of Harlow in everything that I do.” That’s why this collection is filled with pieces that look like they came straight from Nicole’s closet, like lacy peasant tops, printed maxi dresses, and tailored vests (ranging from $49 to $129). Click through to preview Nicole’s Impulse collection, and shop it in Macy’s and online September 12th.

Aug 27, 2012 @ 10:40 am

Nicole Richie’s collection for Macy’s Impulse is almost here! In anticipation of the all under-$150 lineup featuring floaty floral dresses and tailored, paneled separates that epitomize her boho-chic aesthetic, the reality-star-turned-designer talked InStyle.com about the influences behind her personal style. “It’s really about finding your own inspiration and finding pieces that speak to you and applying them to your own wardrobe and your own lifestyle,” she said. “That’s what personal style is. I dress for myself and I dress for comfort, and I always have.” Most importantly, it’s always a process. “Your fashion is always evolving, and that’s what fashion is all about.” Watch Richie show off her new collection in the video above, and shop it at Macy’s and on macys.com starting September 12th, while supplies last.

Nicole Richie collection for Macy’s Impulse department doesn’t arrive for another few weeks, but here is a first look at what you can expect—a mix of floaty floral boho dresses, tailored, panelled separates, and ’70s-inspired prints all in the bohemian style that has become her signature. “I worked extremely hard with Macy’s to create a collection that stayed true to my own aesthetic, so representing my designs in the advertising campaign was a welcome opportunity,” she said in a statement. The entire collection will be available for under $150 when it hits stores and macys.com this September.

Selena Gomez’s Signature Scent Launches at Macy’s

Jun 11, 2012 @ 3:35 pm

Selena Gomez counted on her fans to help her make her new perfume, so when she launched it in at Macy’s flagship store in New York this weekend, she invited them to come and celebrate. The personal appearance—which drew hundreds of girls to the famous Herald Square location—brought $40,000 in sales of the scent that day. “I love my fans so much and I’m so thankful to them,” Gomez (in Versace) told InStyle.com. “I always say it and this was my chance to prove it.” Each note—pineapple, peach, and vanilla—was chosen through a fan contest. The star, who finished shooting three movies this year and will soon start working on her fourth record, said she has always loved perfume and owns over 20 fragrances. “It’s so emotional and nostalgic for me,” she said. Find her eponymous scent for $55 at Macy’s stores or on macys.com.

Fashion Star Episode 9: See the Winning Looks (And Our Top Pick)

May 9, 2012 @ 12:10 pm

The season finale of NBC’s Fashion Star is almost here! Last night, the mentors and judges had to slash six contestants to the final three. The pressure was on as each designer presented two looks, and H&MMacy’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue all walked away with new designs. But which one did we like most? Our top pick is Orly Shani’s two-tone dress, which was scooped up by Saks  ($295 at saksfifthavenue.com). “The hourglass shape is very flattering for a woman’s body,” said Saks buyer Terron E. Schaefer of why he bid $60,000 on the look. We love how the neutral colors can provide a great backdrop for standout accessories. See the rest of the night’s winners in the gallery, and tune in to see who takes home the top prize during next week’s finale episode.
