John Hardy and Angela Lindvall’s QVC Jewelry Line: See the Photos!

Oct 18, 2011 @ 6:30 pm

Model and eco-activist Angela Lindvall teamed up with Bali-based jewelry line John Hardy on a collection of recycled silver baubles for QVC. “I went to Bali for the first time in 2009 and was incredibly inspired by the compound and the artisans at John Hardy,” Lindvall told InStyle.com. “When I came up with the idea of designing my own collection, they generously offered to produce it.” The Angela by John Hardy collection features cocktail rings, bangles, earrings and necklaces priced from $79 to $615, and the pieces are set with both natural and cubic zirconia gemstones. The collection debuts with a live segment from the model tonight on QVC at 8/7c.

Kate Middleton’s Tiara: Jewelry Designers Sketch Dream Tiaras

Apr 4, 2011 @ 9:45 am

According to tradition, a royal bride wears a tiara on her wedding day. Queen Elizabeth II wore a tiara for her wedding to the Duke of Edinburgh, as did Princess Diana, who wore the famous diamond Spencer tiara, a family heirloom piece. What tiara will princess-to-be Kate Middleton wear if she so chooses to for her April 29th nuptials to Prince William? A likely conclusion would be that the Queen will lend her a tiara from the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom collection. However, in anticipation of this momentous royal accessory, InStyle tapped the creative minds of some of our favorite jewelry designers to see what they would design for Middleton’s special day. See tiara sketches for Middleton from Chopard, Van Cleef & Arpels, Swarovski, Royal Asscher, and more in the gallery.

Angela Lindvall Designs Charitable & Eco-Friendly Bracelet

Jul 6, 2010 @ 10:00 am

Activist/supermodel Angela Lindvall is collaborating with Bali-based jewelry brand John Hardy on a gorgeous new line of sustainable jewelry. The Hijau Collection, which takes its name from the Balinese word for “green,” was conceived after Lindvall visited the company’s headquarters, and was designed with the help of John Hardy Creative Director and Designer Guy Bedarida; the pair was inspired by super-sustainable bamboo (which has, of course, been used as a motif in jewelry for years). Their delicate, sterling-silver-and-gemstone creations retail for between $295 and $3000 at Saks Fifth Avenue, but Lindvall also designed a woven organic cotton cord bracelet (right) which sells for just $95. Because 100% of the profits from that piece will go to ForestEthics, an organization that protects endangered forests, it’s green in more ways than one.
