Boho-no! While Kate Hudson is known for her free-spirited bohemian style, she veered onto the all-out glam track lately, and we’re loving it. She packed the most glam of glam wardrobes for her stint in New York to promote her latest film The Reluctant Fundamentalist at the Tribeca Film Festival—outfits that landed her in our Look of the Day section day after day. From left, she’s worn Jenny Packham, Reem Acra, Ann Taylor’s Event Collection, and Michael Kors. Amazing, right? So, what’s the ultimate look of her New York rendezvous? Tell us by voting in the poll. More
The Tribeca Film Festival is in full swing and lower Manhattan is filled with stars celebrating the premieres of their latest independent films. Naomi Watts (in Alexander McQueen) and Matt Dillon posed on the red carpet together for Sunlight Jr., co-stars, Zac Efron, Heather Graham (in Stella McCartney), and Dennis Quaid screened At Any Price, and Matthew Bellamy came out to support fiancé Kate Hudson (Jenny Packham) for her new flick The Reluctant Fundamentalist. As soon as the red carpet rolled up following the 85th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre, Hollywood’s brightest stars hit the party circuit for the all-night festivities! Adele (in Jenny Packham) was all smiles at the Governors Ball, the official after-party held just five floors up from the Oscars stage, posing with the golden statue she nabbed for Best Original Song for “Skyfall.” (“Watch the dress!,” she kindly told guests who kept stepping on her train.) Across town, two annual soirees continued their must-see appeal: Vanity Fair’s epic annual bash heated up with Jennifer Aniston, who posed with legendary designer Valentino Garavani, and Elton John’s 21st annual viewing party, which included guests like Heidi Klum (in Julien MacDonald), also raised money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. “I love that Elton gets all these people out every year, and he makes a fun night into a very important night,” Klum told InStyle.com. “He’s raised more than $300 million dollars since 1992, and people show up!”

The Academy Awards are not only a huge night for those nominated, but also for the designers who dress them! During New York Fashion Week, we asked designers to tell us which gowns from their fall 2013 collections they’d love to see on the Oscars’ red carpet, and all of them were quick to give us their top picks. “I’m sure any designer would love to have a great Oscars moment!” Christian Siriano told InStyle.com when we caught up with him backstage at his show. “There are so many actresses that I love and support.” Indeed! Click through to see the exact gowns Siriano, plus (from left to right) Zac Posen, Jenny Packham, Monique Lhuillier, Badgley Mischka, and more picked—and keep your eyes on our red carpet coverage, starting this Sunday at 6 pm, to see what Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway, and all the other nominees choose to wear for their big night!
Couture claws reigned supreme at New York Fashion Week! Backstage at Rachel Roy, manicurists painted on a retro half-moon design, while a thin gold line adorned the inky digits at Falguni & Shane Peacock. And they weren’t the only ones! Oscar de la Renta and Jenny Packham followed suit, lacquering up in chic patterns that didn’t overshadow the classic feel of their ensembles. Click through our gallery to take a closer look at the 19 manicures we loved most.
Jenny Packham’s fall 2013 collection is packed with looks fit for a princess—and it’s a good thing, too, since Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge is one of her biggest fans. “My job as a designer is to create some sort of emotion for people,” Packham told us backstage after her runway show during New York Fashion Week. “I want people to leave the show thinking that was beautiful.” And it was beautiful indeed, with free-flowing cinnamon chiffon, lustrous light rose silks, long-sleeve dresses covered in beaded roses, and Swarovski crystals covering the necklines of topaz-hued gowns. Any one of her 39 new runway designs is red-carpet ready. “I expect we’ll get some calls. Hopefully in the next few days, and I’ll find out,” she said. Perhaps it will be the Palace on the other line? “She’s got such specific taste,” Packham noted of the Duchess. “I’ll just have to wait and see!”

Julianne Hough did double dress duty at last night’s Golden Globe Awards! The dancer-turned-actress attended the show in a gorgeous cream Monique Lhuillier ballgown with gold embellishments, and a unique one-of-a-kind earcuff made of a fossilized carob beetle! After the show, Hough changed into a sleeker, more party-ready number by Jenny Packham for the InStyle after-party. Hough flaunted her figure in the curve skimming blush-hued gown, which featured silk panels and exaggerated shoulders. However, her dress didn’t last past the dance floor! “I love to dance regardless of how expensive a dress may be… You can’t hold me down!!!” Hough tweeted along with a picture of her ripped dress. Tell us: which look is your favorite? Vote in the poll below!
