Katie Holmes Kicks Off New Season of Holmes & Yang in New York

Katie Holmes and her design partner (and stylist) Jeanne Yang debuted their new fall collection for Holmes & Yang to editors yesterday in an intimate setting held at the Palace Hotel in New York City. The collection was inspired by working women and mothers, Yang told InStyle.com after the show, an inspiration that lent itself to go-anywhere pieces for day and night and a wearable beauty look created by Bobbi Brown (fittingly, as Holmes is the face of the brand). “The best thing about our collection is that it does not need a lot of explanation,” Yang said. “The clothing speaks for itself.” It does—but it also speaks to Katie’s style, and she’s already eyeing some of the pieces she co-created for fall, like this plaid pencil skirt with an off-the-shoulder top (above left). “It is very flattering and shows off a woman’s elegance,” the actress said of the look. Drew Barrymore and husband Will Kopelman took daughter Olive for a walk in cozy toppers, Sarah Jessica Parker put on a thick coat to take daughters Marion and Tabitha for a walk, Katie Holmes’s daughter Suri Cruise took inspiration from the ever-warm panda bear, and Alicia Keys’s tot Egypt wore an adorable knit cupcake with a cherry on top as a hat while in Cannes, France. New Campaign Alert: Katie Holmes for Alterna Haircare!

Katie Holmes is expanding her presence in the beauty world! The actress, who is the first celebrity face of Bobbi Brown cosmetics, just signed on as the co-owner and spokesperson for Alterna haircare. According to Holmes, one of the driving forces behind her decision was the brand’s eco-friendly nature. “I love that Alterna uses natural and organic ingredients and stays away from harsh chemicals like sulfates and parabens,” she told WWD. “It’s good for my hair and good for the earth, so I feel good using it.” Plus, Alterna’s president Joan Malloy hinted that a hair accessory collaboration with the star’s Holmes & Yang label may be in the works. We’re crossing our fingers! Keep an eye out for Holmes’s campaign shots for the brand’s Bamboo Smooth Kendi Oil, which roll out in mid-February.

She stepped out on the Great White Way last night in New York for the opening night of The Other Place, a thrilling new Broadway play starring Emmy winner Laurie Metcalf about a neurologist whose life is coming unhinged at the seams. Holmes looked typically stylish for the show, wearing an azure blazer, oversized white button-up, and cropped black pants.

Celebrity Campaign Models 2013: Katie Holmes, Ashley Benson, and More!

With a new year comes new beginnings, especially when it comes to celebrities supporting their favorite brands. First up, Katie Holmes made her big debut as the new face of makeup brand Bobbi Brown, showing off her best smoky eye with the brand’s new eight-shade Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick, which Brown will debut in February. Meanwhile, Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson is the newest face of evening-wear designer Faviana. “I had a great time shooting the different looks and I felt amazing in every dress I put on,” Benson said in a statement. It’s not the first time Benson has put on her modeling hat—last summer she and co-star Lucy Hale were the face of Bongo.
