Exclusive The Good Wife Fashion Details: Season 4, Episode 21

Apr 22, 2013 @ 4:30 pm

A new episode of The Good Wife premiered last night named “A More Perfect Union.” And while and it touched on the unions created and broken at the courtroom and at the firm, we’re more focused on another union—that of costume designer Daniel Lawson, shown inset, and his commitment to making the show a fashion statement for women in the workforce. This season, he’s elevated Julianna Margulies’s lawyer character Alicia Florrick to another level, as seen with his mix of day-to-night Emilio Pucci suits and peplum-covered jackets by rising designer Number 35 (shown). “There is this sense of body and sensuality in there that I’m trying to achieve with business suits,” Lawson told InStyle.com. And with one episode left of the fourth season, we can’t to see what kind of fashion he uses to for the show’s finale. Get all the exclusive details on the looks he picked last night the gallery.

Exclusive The Good Wife Fashion Details: Season 4, Episode 20

Apr 15, 2013 @ 2:11 pm

A new episode of The Good Wife premiered last night, and it touched upon a sensitive subject in the courtroom, rape. For the intense episode, costume designer Daniel Lawson put Julianna Margulies’s lawyer character Alicia Florrick in equally intense looks, like a oatmeal-hued Brioni jacket and an electric blue Giorgio Armani look. “She’s in court a lot and so it’s trying to pull her out of that court world,” Lawson explained of his choices. “I love any time I can punch her up with and bring her to the audience’s attention. That’s certainly what we did here.” Get all the exclusive details the looks he picked last night the gallery, and follow Lawson on Twitter @GoodWifeFashion for the latest updates.

Feb 28, 2013 @ 10:05 am

Milan Fashion Week has officially come to a close, which means that our Fashion Director Cindy Weber Cleary has picked her last favorite look from the Italian lineup. Her final choice: Giorgio Armani‘s pretty pantsuit. “This pant suit is essential Armani: menswear-inspired, but softened by malleable fabrics and muted pastels,” says Weber Cleary. “Post-modern power dressing—it’s lovely!” Click through to see more of Cindy’s top picks, and keep checking back—she’s headed to Paris next!

Runway Looks We Love: Giorgio Armani

Feb 26, 2013 @ 4:45 pm

In stark contrast to the curvaceous, sparkling numbers Jessica Chastain and Naomi Watts wore to Sunday’s Oscars, Giorgio Armani sent a decidedly more masculine collection down the runway. Blending menswear elements with feminine frills, the mostly black and blue lineup balanced suspenders and suiting with ruffles, pleats, and bows. The eveningwear, which ranged from plunging silk columns to rich velvet gowns and even sequined jumpsuits, definitely gave us something to look forward to at next year’s awards. See our favorite looks in the gallery!
