Catherine Zeta-Jones Is InStyle’s December Cover Girl!

Catherine Zeta-Jones is InStyle’s December cover girl! In the issue, the 43-year-old actress proves—after years facing life’s toughest battles, like husband Michael Douglas’s throat cancer and her own admission of bipolar disorder—that she’s back, and stronger than ever. “I’m not the kind of person who likes to shout out my personal issues from the rooftops,” she tells InStyle. “But with my bipolar becoming public, I hope fellow sufferers will know it’s completely controllable. I hope I can help remove any stigma attached to it.” Ever an icon of strength, Zeta-Jones triumphed through it all—and now she’s having some fun. “I’m building a closet in my house now, and it’s like a dream,” she says of her obsession with fashion. “Racks on each side, a whole boudoir. I sit in there and watch CNN. Michael says one day I’m going to go in and never come out!” And her stock may surprise you. “I love clothes, and yes, we go out, but it’s not like I’m walking around all day in a neglige with fluffy mules,” she says. “We’re country people, really. I garden and knit. I golf. We ride horses. It’s true, I don’t like the whole cutoff-shorts-and-T-shirt look, but I think you can look fantastic in casual clothes.” Next up, you’ll see her in Playing for Keeps (out December 7th) and Broken City (out January 18th). For more of our exclusive interview, flip to page 431 of the December issue—or download it on your iPad, Nook, or Droid tablet—on newsstands Friday, November 16th.

Excusez-moi, Miss Piggy! The Notorious P.I.G. looked fabulous at the 2012 Oscars, thanks to a custom dress by Zac Posen. The Muppet accessorized with Christian Louboutin shoes and Fred Leighton jewelry, including a 70-carat amethyst and diamond ring from the ‘40s, a 55-carat diamond and platinum swirl necklace and a matching 40-carat swirl bracelet, both from the ‘50s. Her hairstylist Kim Kimble, who also works with Beyonce and Kerry Washington, finished off her blowout with a 10-carat diamond clip. Her best accessory, however, was her date—Kermit the Frog, who looked handsome in a Brooks Brothers tuxedo. What a cute couple!

Oscars 2012: Michelle Williams’ Dress Took 300 Hours to Make

Feb 26, 2012 @ 7:30 pm

Best Actress nominee Michelle Williams chose a Louis Vuitton dress with a peplum waist for her big night, and played up the strapless neckline with a Fred Leighton for Forevermark necklace that featured 30 carats worth of brilliant-cut diamonds. Fun fact: The dress took over 300 hours to make at the atelier in Paris, the label said in a statement, using silk mousseline and organza ribbons. And the My Week With Marilyn star had to pool her friends to clarify the color. “I’ve been asking everyone what color it is, and they say it’s coral or maybe pomegranate,” she said of the hue. For the record, Louis Vuitton officially called it “burnt orange.” Tell us: Do you like her look?

The Golden Globes red carpet had no shortage of sparkling gowns, and thanks to a few well-placed hair accessories, Charlize Theron, Michelle Williams and Busy Philipps added some extra shimmer to their looks. Best Actress nominee Theron chose a vintage Cartier piece, decked out in diamonds. “Because this piece of jewelry was so special, I had to make sure the hair was understated,” her hairstylist Enzo Angileri told InStyle.com. Williams accented her strawberry pixie with a vintage Fred Leighton headband, while Philipps opted for a simple pewter strand. Anne Hathaway performed a lively singing tribute to Meryl Streep during the broadcast of the Kennedy Center Honors last night—and she broke out a split! While melodically belting out lyrics like “She’s My Pal” to her Devil Wears Prada co-star, the newly-engaged actress dropped down to the ground in a full-on split, begging the question, What gown could allow such flexibility? We have the answer! The white and black lace design is from Oscar de la Renta’s spring 2012 collection. She topped it off with Fred Leighton jewelry, including a coral, onyx and diamond bracelet and diamond stud earrings. What a high-fashion look for an on-stage gymnastics move!

SAG Awards: Glee Fashion!

Jan 30, 2011 @ 10:49 pm

The Glee ladies shined on the SAG Awards red carpet. Most of the cast’s leading ladies chose light colors, like Lea Michele in a sparkly dress by Oscar de la Renta, Heather Morris in a blush chiffon Romona Keveza gown and Jayma Mays in a peach Jenny Packham dress that featured a beaded sleeve. Meanwhile, Amber Riley and Dianna Agron both chose dark hues; Riley in a black Anne Barge mermaid gown and Agron in a navy tea-length Chanel couture look. “I’ve never felt girlier!” said Agron, pictured.
