Lights, camera, FASHION! The Cannes Film Festival kicked off today in the French Riviera, where stars from all over the world convened in the city to promote their films. This is one red carpet we look forward to every year—the stars aren’t afraid to take fashion risks in Cannes, and we love to watch them. Even today, when the raindrops poured down for the premiere film, The Great Gatsby, star Carey Mulligan smiled for the cameras with umbrella in hand wearing a blush Dior Haute Couture gown and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. Isla Fisher, Nicole Kidman, and Julianne Moore weren’t far behind. Click to see more Cannes Film Festival fashion.

What InStyle’s Fashion Director Loved at Christian Dior (Other Than the Warhol Prints!)

Mar 4, 2013 @ 1:53 pm

InStyle‘s Cindy Weber Cleary is at Paris Fashion Week, and she’s sharing her favorite looks as soon as they hit the runway. One she loved: Raf Simons’s new collection for Christian Dior. The lineup boasted artful prints, but that wasn’t what struck our Fashion Director’s keen eye:  ”There were newsier aspects to this collection, like the Warhol prints,” she says, “but to my mind, it doesn’t get any better than this dramatic, yet timeless coat. Perfection!”

Click through the gallery to see more of Cindy’s favorites.

Runway Looks We Love: Christian Dior

Mar 1, 2013 @ 3:00 pm

Ladylike, sophisticated, and chic are three adjectives that can always be counted on to describe a Christian Dior collection, and the lineup that showed at Paris Fashion Week today did not disappoint. Less than a year after first debuting as the house’s designer, creative director Raf Simons continued the house’s legacy of ultra-feminine fashion for his fifth runway show. He debuted a series of black and white knits, intricate silhouettes, and evening-ready dresses adorned with sketches of birds, shoes, and faces to add extra appeal to flowing designs and ruffled waistlines. See our favorites in the gallery!

InStyle‘s Fashion Director Cindy Weber Cleary is in the City of Lights for Paris Fashion Week, and today she took in the new collection by Raf Simons for Christian Dior. The anticipation grew as she sent us this Instagram shot of the blue-infused set before the show, and then as the lights dimmed, she snapped this runway shot of a lust-worthy cape, calling the entire lineup a very “beautiful, very French” collection. J’adore! For more updates, straight from the runway, follow at @instylemagazine on Instagram.
