On the first day of New York Fashion Week, BCBG Max Azria presented a gypsy-inspired fall collection with a decidedly modern feel. There were laser-cut leather hoodies, jacquard motorcycle jackets, laid-back yet luxe fur vests and, true to BCBG form, party-ready silk and tulle slip dresses. Neutral tones ruled the runway, with subtle accents of burgundy and navy, while each look got a dose of sporty edge thanks to cool girl wardrobe staples: cozy cashmere beanies and thigh-high leather boots. Christa B. Allen’s Lacy Revenge Dress

On Sunday night’s cliffhanger episode of ABC’s Revenge, following an “accident” that occurred during Amanda’s baby shower at the Grayson Manor, younger sibling Charlotte Grayson (played by Christa B. Allen) waited at the hospital with Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) for an update on the condition of Amanda and her baby. Staying true to her youth and penchant for pretty things, Allen’s character wore a sweet and delicate lace dress for the festive gathering turned tragic affair—and we’ve found it! Who says summer’s over? Not these ladies. Rebecca Romijn (in Dilek Hanif), Ali Larter (in Temperley), Selma Blair (in Skaist Taylor), Garcelle Beauvais (in BCBG), Ashley Greene (in Antonio Berardi), and Rachel Zoe (in Rachel Zoe collection) stepped out at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Palisades, California this weekend in light, sun-loving looks. And they came prepared, as well: “I was like, no pointy heels! I don’t want to be sinking into the lawn out there,” Romijn told us, when asked about the possibility of divot treading during the event. Runway Looks We Love: BCBG

BCBG kicked off New York Fashion Week with a bold collection of contrasts: black and white, leather and lace, masculine and feminine. The femme fatale designs were inspired by German artist Helmut Newton‘s seductive photography and juxtaposed sculptural harnesses with airy fabrics and peek-a-boo details. In fact, InStyle‘s own Ariel Foxman loved the contrast. Not to be outdone by the clothes, standout accessories like oversize clutches and ankle-cuff platforms shared the spotlight. Dallas Episode 9 Fashion: Rebecca’s Banana Republic Coat and More

A new episode of Dallas premiered last night, and we caught up with the show’s costume designer, Rachel Sage Kunin, to get the exclusive details about the Texan looks she created. Fun fact: Kunin put Rebecca (Julie Gonzalo) in this gray Banana Republic coat and sherbet BCBG sweater for a very specific reason: “Rebecca has severely jeopardized her relationship with Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe) and is determined to prove her commitment to him,” Kunin told InStyle.com. “Given her newfound responsibility—being pregnant—I felt it important to use gray in her costume which is a sign of maturity.” Click through the gallery for Kunin’s take on more of last night’s outfits.
