Congrats! Mark Badgley and James Mischka Got Married This Weekend

Mark Badgley and James Mischka are married men! The designing duo, who have been in business together for the last 28 years, tied the knot on Friday at City Hall in New York City. Badgley and Mischka met at the Parsons School of Design in Manhattan, then launched their brand in 1988 and opened a bridal business shortly after. And it seems Badgley’s had his mind on marriage for a while now—this is what the designer told us backstage at Fashion Week: “I find [fashion shows] very nerve-racking. It’s like putting on a wedding twice a year. We work for six months and it’s over in ten minutes!” This event, however, lasts a lifetime—congratulations, gentlemen!

Designers Pick Oscars Gowns from Their Fall 2013 Collections

The Academy Awards are not only a huge night for those nominated, but also for the designers who dress them! During New York Fashion Week, we asked designers to tell us which gowns from their fall 2013 collections they’d love to see on the Oscars’ red carpet, and all of them were quick to give us their top picks. “I’m sure any designer would love to have a great Oscars moment!” Christian Siriano told InStyle.com when we caught up with him backstage at his show. “There are so many actresses that I love and support.” Indeed! London Fog Announces Designer Rain Gear Collection Worth Splashing Around In

The brand called upon Badgley Mischka, Cynthia Rowley, and Chris Benz to create outerwear, rain boots, luggage, and umbrellas for men and women, set to debut this fall. “We love being able to add a touch of glamour to such an iconic brand,” Mark Badgley and James Mischka of Badgley Mischka said. “London Fog has such a rich heritage. It’s a fun collaboration.” And from the sketches shown here, it looks like we can expect cape silhouettes from Badgley Mischka and funky florals from Chris Benz. Shop the collection for $50 to $275 in stores, on londonfog.com, and the designers’ websites when it launches in August.

Helen Mirren attended the 64th Annual Directors Guild Of America Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday in a champagne gown by Badgley Mischka. This dress is one of her favorite black-tie options, as the Oscar-winner previously wore the look to the Golden Globe Awards last year. She even kept her pinned-back updo the same, down to the dangling front pieces. Of course, the secret to re-wearing an outfit like this is all in the accessories—she kept it minimal over the weekend by adding long drop earrings and keeping her neckline bare, and before, she slipped on a stunning Cartier choker for the Globes.
