In Honor of Taylor Swift’s Red Album, Her Best Red Looks

Aug 15, 2012 @ 8:45 am

Taylor Swift is a girl who knows what she likes: breakup anthems (like her most recent “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”), sequins (her stage looks are covered in ‘em), and, most of all, the color red. We’ve spotted her out in the hue many times, so while she says that she named her new album Red because of the “intense” emotions that inspired the album, we also think might have had something to do with her penchant for the passionate shade. So, in honor of her love for the color of love, click through the gallery to see Taylor’s best red looks.

Get a Wedding Dress Like Carrie Underwood’s for Less

Jan 4, 2011 @ 3:18 pm

For brides who dream of walking down the aisle in a designer gown—like Carrie Underwood‘s strapless Monique Lhuillier—but don’t want to pay full price, the Internet may hold your answer. Rent the Runway announced it would launch a bridesmaids’ dress rental service this month, and a new flash sale bridal site named The Aisle New York (like a Gilt.com and RueLaLa.com), just launched this week. Already the site offers gowns, veils, shoes and jewelry, including dresses by Lhuillier (dress shown is $2,899, down from $4,840) and Angel Sanchez, plus Oscar de la Renta accessories, and a percentage of each sale goes to charity. Sure you can’t try anything on (though you can make returns for a fee), but it’s definitely a new way to approach saying yes to a dress. Tell us: Would you rent or buy your wedding gown?

Tatiana Blatnik Weds Prince Nikolaos in Angel Sanchez

Aug 26, 2010 @ 11:08 am

Yesterday Tatiana Blatnik, an event planner for Diane von Furstenberg (and now a princess!), married Prince Nikolaos of Greece on the isle of Spetses amidst hundreds of adoring citizens and tourists. Blatnik wore a strapless sweetheart lace Angel Sanchez gown. “Tatiana is a classic beauty–very Grace Kelly, tall, with a streamlined figure and natural elegance–everything a designer could ask for. We decided on a classic strapless gown with a soft A-line skirt made with 40 meters of French Chantilly, asymmetrical draping and delicate embroidery,” the designer told us exclusively. “To make the train less formal, I decided to make two long Chantilly falls that would integrate to the veil. To complete the romantic yet conservative look, I created a Chantilly hand embroidered bolero–a mandatory requirement for the ceremony.” She topped the look off with a Grecian crown and carried a traditional bouquet of white stephanotis. Congrats to the happy couple!
