Kate Bosworth’s Stylist Cher Coulter: ‘Don’t Be a Wallflower!’

Dec 29, 2012 @ 2:00 pm

It can be a daunting task to find the perfect outfit for New Year’s Eve, which is why we turned to celebrity stylist Cher Coulter for advice. “The holiday season is no time to be a wallflower,” said the stylist, who works with Kate Bosworth and Elizabeth Olsen. “If your dress, jewelry, and shoes are standout, keep the hair sleek and the make up pretty and not too heavy.” For those who prefer to tone it down, she suggests striking a different balance. “If you decide on more understated holiday attire, then make a statement with a strong red lip and maybe a more interesting blowout or up-do.” Her bottom line: Don’t be afraid to mix it up!

The Good Wife Fashion Details: Season 4, Episode 7

Nov 12, 2012 @ 1:37 pm

A new episode of The Good Wife premiered last night, in which Julianna Margulies’s character Alicia Florrick defended a lewd comedienne, played by guest star Christina Ricci. There were dozens of wardrobe changes in this episode, and costume designer Daniel Lawson worked overtime to represent the opposite attitudes of the characters with their clothing. “I wanted Alicia to look really put together and professional to contrast the character Christina played, who was inappropriately casual at times,” Lawson told InStyle.com. “It was a big script and a big episode, and I wanted Alicia to feel uber-put together and very ensemble-like the whole time.” To do so, he used Altuzarra, Les Copains, Christian Dior, and more. Click through for more details about the fashion last night!

Rashida Jones Wowed Brad Goreski in Her Altuzarra Dress

Jun 29, 2012 @ 3:50 pm

Even celebrity stylists have their ‘Wow’ moments! Brad Goreski’s latest was last week, when he put his funny girl client Rashida Jones in a black and metallic dress by designer-of-the-moment Joseph Altuzarra and strappy silver Jimmy Choo heels. “It was just a dress that was meant for her,” Goreski told InStyle.com at the Trevor Project’s benefit in New York, which supports crisis intervention for LGBTQ teens. “As soon as I saw it, I just knew. You always know when the right dress meets the right person.” So, why did it work so perfectly? “It was easy breezy, he said. “She’s just so effortless and cool.” We agree!

Jennifer Lawrence Looks Great in Color

Jennifer Lawrence likes to wear her fair share of LBDs (honestly, who doesn’t?), though we’d like to take a moment to point out that this young star looks great in color—any color. The Hunger Games leading lady headed to last year’s SAG Awards in hot pink Oscar de la Renta, hit last week’s Berlin premiere of her action movie in red Marchesa, shimmered in gold Prabal Gurung at the Los Angeles Games premiere, stepped out in forest green Calvin Klein in New York last night, presented at the People’s Choice Awards in electric blue Viktor & Rolf, and spoke with David Letterman in navy-violet Altuzarra. For someone who usually likes neutrals, bright hues suit her well! Tell us: What’s your favorite color to wear?

Plus, see Jennifer Lawrence’s best outfits ever in the gallery.
