For a collection inspired by nature, Herve Leger by Max Azria’s fall runway had some serious street appeal! ”Every season when we start, we start with the bandage, and what we could add to it,” creative director Lubov Azria told InStyle.com. “This time, we were inspired by the textures found in nature, like lilypads and ocelots. We just went for it.” In turn, the looks ranged from cropped tops and pencil skirts to sparkling cocktail numbers, with additions of sheer jersey crewnecks and fox fur “sweatshirts.” To add extra urban jungle appeal, each design—whether studded, sequined or harnessed—was fittingly topped off with a black baseball cap. As New York Fashion Week officially kicks off, we’re expecting to see a lot of the season’s biggest colors on the runway of all the hottest designers. Red is already on our radar—but it’s not the only color designers like Max Azria favor when they’re dressing some of the most beautiful women in the world. “Of course, the number one color for 2,000 years is black and white. It’s classic,” the designer told InStyle.com. Click through the gallery to see more designers’s favorite colors!
On Sunday night’s cliffhanger episode of ABC’s Revenge, following an “accident” that occurred during Amanda’s baby shower at the Grayson Manor, younger sibling Charlotte Grayson (played by Christa B. Allen) waited at the hospital with Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) for an update on the condition of Amanda and her baby. Staying true to her youth and penchant for pretty things, Allen’s character wore a sweet and delicate lace dress for the festive gathering turned tragic affair—and we’ve found it! The girlie number is BCBGMAXAZRIA‘s Willa Lace Cocktail Dress in tapioca, available now on bcbg.com for $338. And while we’re fine leaving the drama to the small screen, we’d gladly take this piece home!

“The only thing I need right now is a turtleneck,” singer Kelly Rowland told us after the BCBG Max Azria show, where every single look incorporated a turtleneck. And she won’t be the only one come fall, as designers at New York Fashion Week are showing off ways that turtlenecks can be worn with anything. BCBG Max Azria layered them under gowns and dresses (center); Rachel Comey played with prints under a pantsuit (left); and Christian Siriano showed a simple black look with a cocktail-ready skirt. How do you like to wear turtlenecks? Tell us in the comments!

From languid layers to painterly prints, BCBG Max Azria‘s Fall 2011 collection was downright delicate. The neutral palette mixed shades of pumice, mocha, and charcoal with shots of cobalt and bordeaux thrown into the mix. Many of the flowy looks were offset with beautifully structured clutches.
