Compare This! Blake Lively’s Burgundy Marios Schwab Dress, From Runway to Reality

Mar 11, 2013 @ 10:33 am

Blake Lively supported husband Ryan Reynolds at the New York premiere of his new animated film The Croods yesterday wearing a burgundy dress by British designer Marios Schwab, a fresh piece that just debuted during the Fall 2013 London Fashion Week just a few weeks ago. We love how Mrs. Reynolds made the fall mini appear more spring by switching out the cage sandals for white pumps, which gave the white of the hemline an extra pop as well. This look fits right in line with what Schwab envisioned for women who wear his designs: “The Marios Schwab girl is mystical and she likes enjoying fashion, but she also likes something that is not overshadowing her character and personality,” he had told InStyle.com. That’s so Blake.

Plus, see the other stars who love to wear Marios Schwab.

In Stores Today: Rihanna’s Collection for River Island

Mar 5, 2013 @ 10:39 am

It was only two weeks ago that Rihanna debuted herself as a fashion designer for River Island at London Fashion Week, and already, her guest collection for the British brand is in stores today! The pieces are all looks inspired by the star’s style, from neon crop tops to loose maxi dresses to jumpsuits (all priced between $30 and $145), and that makes it all the more authentic. “Every time I saw something on a rack, there was something I wanted to do to it to change it, so I thought the only way I could do that is by designing the perfect thing for me,” Rihanna said in a video taped backstage. Watch the clip above to see Rihanna’s River Island collection, as modeled by girls dancing to “Diamonds,” and shop it—including the 200 limited-edition pieces Rihanna marked with her signature “R” script—now on riverisland.com.

Runway Looks We Love: Burberry

Feb 19, 2013 @ 4:25 pm

When it comes to transforming the classic Burberry trench into a modern masterpiece, designer Christopher Bailey is quite the magician. For his fall collection, titled “Trench Kisses,” at London Fashion Week, he incorporated kitschy (even kinky) elements, like all-over hearts and slick latex. The transparent fabric popped up on skirts (revealing cheeky undergarments), tops, and jackets, all in a classic neutral palette spotted with pops of leopard print. For evening, he created bold cocktail dresses, some with built-in neck pieces, which cleverly replaced jewelry. The accessories also offered a lot to look forward to, like low-heeled animal print wedges, fur-covered evening clutches, and ladylike totes. See our favorite looks in the gallery.
