In a twist of seasons, designer Thakoon Panichgul drew inspiration for his fall beauty look from warmer climes. “Thakoon’s winter collection is inspired by summer,” said NARS lead makeup artist Diane Kendal. “It was a combination of rich fabrics with short-sleeved dresses, and heavy stoles with dragonflies.” Kendal reflected the deep tones with a piercing, slightly metallic, blue statement eye, while lead hairstylist Odile Gilbert created a sleek updo with avant-garde fringe for the hair. All aboard! For Louis Vuitton‘s fall 2012 runway show, designer Marc Jacobs created an elaborate set complete with a real train. Porters carried chic LV luggage behind the models, who were dressed in layered looks with exaggerated proportions and intricate embroidery. Each outfit was topped off with an oversize Stephen Jones hat (just like at Marc Jacobs’s fall 2012 show!), and sky-high ankle-strap pumps, huge round sunglasses, and a handbags for every occasion—from evening to travel—rounded out the collection. Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri of Valentino offered up a romantic-meets-edgy collection for Fall 2012. Girlish details dominated the day dresses, which came with puffed sleeves and scalloped edging, while lipstick red cocktail looks and metallic embroidered lace gowns rounded out the evening options. Yves Saint Laurent creative director Stefano Pilati is leaving his position at the label soon, and showed his last collection during Paris Fashion Week today. The goodbye-runway show featured a powerful lineup of dark-hued, moody looks, like chainmail dresses, leather separates, and precisely-cut suiting in shades of dark green, blood red, and black.
