Kate Middleton Loves a Good Lace Dress

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge celebrated the last night of her twenties by going to the opening of Steven Spielberg’s War Horse in London. For her big night out, she chose a custom lace gown by Temperley London, designed by Alice Temperley. “They’re the most humble, down-to-earth people I’ve ever dressed,” the designer told InStyle.com recently of dressing Kate and her sister, Pippa. “They’re completely easy and wonderful to work with, and they look great in the clothes.They know exactly what they like.” And one thing the Duchess definitely likes is a good lace dress, as she’s worn a short style by Zara and a navy design by Erdem in the past. For more of her recent memorable outfits, click through the gallery.

Saks Does Up Its Holiday Windows For Charity!

Saks Fifth Avenue dressed their holiday windows with a charitable spirit!  The department store invited the designers Stella McCartney, Proenza Schouler, Nina Ricci, Olivier Theyskens, Rag & Bone, and Erdem to create one-of-a-kind dresses to display in a series of dreamy “bubbles and snowflakes” themed tableaux.  Beyond just looking good, all the exclusive gowns are being auctioned off through Charitybuzz to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Bidding starts today and opens at $500—which dress has you ready to make a donation?

Celebrities love Erdem Moralioglu! The London designer launched his collection in 2005, and his pieces have been red carpet regulars ever since, appearing on Kate Middleton, Rashida Jones, Kate Bosworth, Elizabeth Olsen and more. “I’ve had the privilege of dressing a diverse group of women who are all amazing,” the designer told InStyle.com at the British Fashion Council’s London Show Rooms in Los Angeles recently. “It’s such a huge compliment. I love the idea of providing women with something that they feel really comfortable in and that makes them feel like a beautiful version of themselves.” The designer is known for his eye-popping prints and bold florals, and encourages women of all ages—even those who are hesitant—to embrace a vibrant palette. “Don’t be afraid of color,” he says. “Start off with separates and move towards a dress. Catherine Middleton had a busy weekend! While we were out celebrating the Fourth of July, the Duchess of Cambridge skipped from Ottawa to Quebec to Prince Edward Island, wearing some great designer outfits along the way. Some of her picks included an Alexander McQueen sailor-inspired look, a purple Issa dress reminiscent of her sapphire blue engagement announcement frock, a gray Catherine Walker shift, and a blue dress by Erdem Moralioglu, a Canadian-born, London-based designer. With so many looks, it’s hard to choose a favorite!
