The perfect wedding dress is the stuff of girlhood dreams, and after eyeing the opulent one-of-a-kind bridal couture gowns at Fall 2013 Couture Fashion Week, our dreams have only grown bigger. The bridal look in a couture show, a.k.a. “The Bride,” wraps up each show as the closing number, bringing a whole new meaning to “going out with a bang.” Click through to see the roundup of wedding head-turners from Couture Fashion Week, from Chanel‘s sweet and sheer tiers to Elie Saab‘s dramatic tulle layers embroidered with quartz, crystal and glitter.
Couture Fashion Week is not like any other Fashion Week. As a requirement to be part of Couture, each designer must create designs that are custom and hand-sewn, bead by bead and stitch by stitch. Couture is truly fashion as art—each piece that walks down the runway speaks to the designers’ creative visions. That makes it that much more fabulous to watch. We’ve been looking at each of the shows—Christian Dior, Atelier Versace, Armani Privé, and Giambattista Valli among them (as seen above)—and picking out the prettiest designs from each. Click to see the stand-outs, and don’t be surprised if you spot one of these unique pieces on a red carpet soon.
Summer hues were trending at the 2013 CMT Music Awards! AnnaSophia Robb chose pale pink Georges Chakra Couture, Carrie Underwood picked seafoam Edition by Georges Chakra before taking home the top honor of the night, Video of the Year for “Blown Away,” Taylor Swift decided to go for a champagne Elie Saab design, and Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry popped in tangerine Oday Shakar. Click to see what everyone else wore to the ceremony, held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, including Nicole Kidman, Kellie Pickler, host Kristen Bell, and more.
As the Cannes Film Festival heads towards its final weekend, the stars are amping up the style! To Oblivion, and beyond! That’s where Olga Kurylenko and her co-star Tom Cruise have been promoting their action-packed sci-fi flick, which hits theaters nationwide April 19. And for the movie’s global red carpet tour, the 33-year-old Ukrainian born actress has proven herself a darling of the fashion world, with some of the biggest labels dressing her every appearance. In Moscow, she picked a lilac Elie Saab Haute Couture floral embroidered dress; in Dublin, she went sleek with an emerald column by Roland Mouret; in London, she donned a black lace-trim Marchesa; and in Los Angeles, she picked a plunging embroidered satin Burberry design. And her love of fashion is newly-acquired: “I now understand this thing about taking care of yourself before leaving the house, no matter where you go,” she told InStyle last spring. Even when she travels, too: “I was getting ready to leave [on a flight], and my boyfriend asked me, ‘Why don’t you put on sneakers?’ And I said, ‘No way!’ I had on high-heeled boots. Heels were something that just didn’t exist for me before. But now I feel like I’m a woman.”

On Revenge last night, Emily (Emily VanCamp) found another person to add to her hit list, Nolan’s (Gabriel Mann) tech nemesis, “The Falcon,” and she did it while wearing a coral Elie Saab dress that made everyone—including costume designer Jill Ohanneson—swoon. “I just loved the color on her. It was unusual for her; she tends to stick to the blues and the beiges. But the moment she put it on, we knew it was the perfect choice for her,” Ohanneson told InStyle.com. “I also really love it for when she meets Daniel (Josh Bowman) and she’s being sympathetic. The color is so warm and the square neckline is so open, it was too perfect emotionally.” Check next week for Ohanneson’s inside scoop on the upcoming episode’s masquerade looks!

Though Taylor Swift did not attend Elie Saab‘s runway show, her presence could definitely be felt. As the crisp pantsuits, lacy gowns, and floaty party dresses came down the runway, we couldn’t help but imagine the country singer in the designs for her future red carpet appearances. While the sheer panels and belted designs were reminiscent of silhouettes that have become the singer’s signatures, colorful fur stoles (in turquoise and mustard) and powerful, structured skirt suits would represent a sophisticated departure for the stylish star.
