Runway Looks We Love: Elie Saab

Mar 8, 2012 @ 6:00 pm

Elie Saab’s fall collection focused on accentuating the female form. For day, the designer offered feminine bow blouses, monochromatic suiting, and dresses with strategically-placed black panels that created a slimming silhouette. Saab’s signature red carpet stunners (recently seen on Berenice Bejo, Jessica Chastain, and Nina Dobrev) turned up in emerald, gold, and silver, some with daringly-high slits. See our favorite looks in the gallery!

Oscars 2012: Berenice Bejo Wants Her Husband to Like Her Dress

Feb 26, 2012 @ 4:25 pm

Berenice Bejo’s Oscars 2012 dress wasn’t a last-minute decision. The Best Supporting Actress nominee had her mint Elie Saab design all lined up by the Academy Awards nominees luncheon several weeks ago. “It’s done!” she told InStyle.com of picking her look. And her process was fairly harmless. “It’s not such a big deal to me,” she said. “It’s just getting into a nice dress to honor the situation. You’re not doing to do jeans. You’re going to wash your hair and brush your teeth. I just want to look pretty and good.” As for how she chose the gown, there was one very important factor going into her decision. “The most important [thing] for me would be just that Michel Hazanavicius, who is my husband, likes me in the dress. That’s it.” (Hazanavicius is the director of The Artist, the movie in which Bejo stars.) Now we know her dress tonight was husband-approved!
